Renegade cop and bounty hunter Reno Raines is searching for Hound Adams (GEOFFREY BLAKE), a fugitive criminal. Hound has a tape recording that proves Reno innocent of murdering a fellow police officer. Hound is eluding Reno, refusing to give him the tape until Reno kills Lieutenant Donald "Dutch" Dixon (STEPHEN J. CANNELL). Dixon, the corrupt police detective who actually killed the officer, is also determined to kill Reno and Hound and retrieve the tape.By coercing some of Hound's friends, Reno trails Hound to a California coast sports bar. As Reno confronts Hound just before closing time, two psychotic criminals, Frank Ritchie (GREGORY SCOTT CUMMINS) and Joey Bruno (LARRY HOLDEN), rob the bar's cash register and the few remaining patrons. Johnny Burke (KEN FOREE), the burly bartender, secretly dials an emergency assistance telephone number. Several police cars soon surround the building.
