Heroes Behind the Scenes on YouTube

Can't get enough of Heroes? Thanks to cast member Adrian Pasdar, fans can get a special behind the scenes look at some of their favorite actors from the show. Pasdar has posted a series of videos on YouTube under the name "Buckshotwon." "They're little snapshots into the life of what we do when we're not filming," he says. The videos range from simple — Hayden Panettiere shopping for shoes in Paris — to stylized — Milo Ventimiglia and Jack Coleman doing an improv Pellegrino commercial during an airport layover. Of course, Pasdar has his favorites. "There's a cute one of Hayden at the Georges V Paris playing hide and seek with the camera," he says of a piece filmed during the Heroes World Tour. Another fave is shot through the sunroof of a limo containing Ali Larter. One of Pasdar's best subjects is pal Greg Grunberg. "My stuff's really silly," says Grunberg of the videos featuring him. "That's a side of me people don't really see on the show." If the postings seem t... read more

Will More Heroes Suffer Mr. Nakamura's Fate?

Will this be the last we see of Mr. Nakamura? George Takei by Chris Haston/NBC

Episode Recap: "Four Months Later...." (September 24, 2007)Of all the shows I follow, this was the premiere that had me fidgeting in my cubicle all day. I have never missed an episode. I nearly fell out of my chair when I received an email this past summer, saying that I would be the new Heroes blogger. This blog is important to TV Guide and Heroes fans alike. I myself used to read it every Tuesday morning before and after meeting my co-workers around the Heroes water-cooler. Needless to say, I hope I live up to all of your expectations, because this show just gets better and better!First off, the symbol. You know what I’m talking about - the RNA strand that pops up everywhere. Tonight, it was painted in red on Mrs. Petrelli and Mr. Nakamura’s (may he rest in hero peace) torn photos, drawn by Molly, fashioned around Peter’s (he lives!) neck and carved within the handle of the famous Kensei/Hiro sword. So, what exactly does it mean? One known fact: When you receive a p... read more

At the 2007 Emmys: Part 1

(Not-so-) fresh off the plane, me with the famous "Hollywood" sign in the distance.

Friday, Sept. 14, 8:21 am/ETAs you may have surmised by Ben Katner's byline on Friday's Today's News blog, I am en route to the Emmys in the Los Angeles of the California. Seat 23F, two nice nonsmelly ladies sitting next to me, waiting for the plane to pull away from the gate. Window seat. No dents in the wing — always a good sign in my book. The flight attendant is giving that spiel about, "If you are not headed to Los Angeles...," where I always expect (but never get) some poor sap rising and exclaiming, "Holy crap! Wait!"Ausiello is also in the air, but on a different plane. Flew out of LaGuardia (versus Newark), Mr. City Mouse did. Hey, fewer people climbing over me to get his autograph, right? If you haven't checked it out yet, you should really swing by TVGuide.com's Emmy Watch site. A lot of hard work by a lot of fantastic people went into it. Right now, you can check out (the original Matt) Matt Roush's predictions as well as see who the TVGuide.com readers think will w... read more

Greg Grunberg, Masi Oka, Ali Larter and Sendhil Ramamurthy by Jun Sato/WireImage.com

Superpowers aren't the only perk for the cast of NBC's sci-fi hit Heroes. Earlier this week a dozen cast members began flying the friendly skies for eight days to promote the release of the Heroes Season 1 DVD. "We are having the greatest time ever in Asia," Greg Grunberg tells TV Guide. "Tokyo was mind-blowing, and Hong Kong is crazy for the show."The whirlwind "Heroes World Tour" includes stops in eight countries on three continents, concluding on Sept. 2. Stars were split into three groups of four to meet and greet fans in London, Paris, Munich, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Singapore, New York City and Toronto. "In Japan, Masi [Oka] and I took a late-night subway ride to Electric Town to shop," Grunberg says. "We snapped nerdy photos of both of us trying to stop time on the busy Tokyo tube. It’s good to be the mind-reading cop!" —Dana Meltzer Zepeda read more

The Peacock is unfurling The NBC Primetime Preview Show, a 30-minute showcase for its coming season, starting Aug. 11 on select affiliates and NBCU-owned cablers (check local listings). As part of the initiative, NBC is also letting cable, satellite and telco (that Fios thing?) outlets premiere the first episodes of Bionic Woman, Chuck, Life and Journeyman two weeks early. But remember, Matt Parkman is hosting the special, so be careful with your thoughts on the new programs. He can hear them. read more

Just wondering if you could ...

Question: Just wondering if you could elaborate on just how handsome Parkman looked at your Heroes set visit last week.

Answer: Ridiculously handsome. In fact, I almost didn't recognize him with all the weight his portrayer, Greg Grunberg, lost. (Thirty-five pounds and counting!) Hey, I just realized something — your name is Greg Grunberg, too! What a coinky-dink!

Emmy Nominees React to Their Golden Opportunities

Rainn Wilson, Neil Patrick Harris and Sally Field are among this year's Emmy nominees.

We know what you think about the nominees for this year's Primetime Emmy Awards, but what do the lucky nominees have to say about their good fortune? Some of your favorites reveal what went through their minds as the good news got out. Doug Ellin, executive producer of Entourage (Outstanding Comedy Series nominee) "The New York Times called Entourage the best show in its first season. If for some reason [the voters] appreciate it more and we win this time, there's nothing we've consciously done to change it.... I spoke to Jeremy [Piven], who's in London doing a movie, and I'm playing golf with Kevin [Dillon] in about two hours. Jeremy is kind of our home-run hitter, I knew he was going to get nominated, and when Kevin and Martin Landau also got nominated, it was just great." Tim Kring, executi read more

Will Catalina and Earl Compete for Girls?

Nadine Velazquez by Mitchell Haaseth/NBC

Despite the hot night, there was a chill vibe in the air at the NBC upfront party on the Beverly Hilton rooftop. Celebs like Heroes’ Greg Grunberg and ER's John Stamos kept cool with electronic mini-fans the network handed out to guests. As they noshed on roast beef, pasta and loads of pastries, partygoers could unwind in cabanas, mingle with the masses, or, in the case of NBC’s biggest stars, dish to TV Guide about the upcoming season of their hit show. My Name Is Earl’s Nadine Velasquez says, “The last I heard, I might explore being a lesbian and compete with Earl for girls. It’s not confirmed yet because the network has to approve it, but I love it.” Still, despite the reporters trying to get some scoop, it was a party. ER’s Mekhi Phifer, who doesn’t return to work until August, didn’t know much about the upcoming season. After a few minutes, Phifer looked at the crowd and said, “C’mon, guys, I just want to drink and relax.&#... read more

Ali Larter, Greg Grunberg, Milo Ventimiglia, Sendhil Ramamurthy, Tim Kring, Jack Coleman by Chris Haston/NBC

Last season, they saved the world. Now the stars of Heroes will get to see the world. At a press conference held Thursday in Los Angeles, executive producer/creator Tim Kring announced that the cast of the sci-fi hit will embark on a "Heroes World Tour" to promote the Season 1 DVD release on Aug. 28. "The show has been licensed in 150 territories," said Kring. "Clearly, Heroes has struck a chord around the world. From the beginning, the central message has been the idea that people could come together to do great things. This tour is the embodiment of those ideals."So far, the week-long global trek includes personal appearances in Tokyo, Hong Kong, New York City, Munich, Paris, London and Singapore, with more dates to come. "The Brady Bunch went to the Grand Canyon, so this is pretty cool for us," joked series star Greg Grunberg. Kring also revealed a few hints about Season 2, which resumed production on Monday. "Last season, we set up the idea that there was another generation that... read more

You love Greg Grunberg. I ...

Question: You love Greg Grunberg. I love Greg Grunberg. Please tell me he'll be in Heroes next season. Pretty please? I know his character was pretty shot up at the end, but he's got to pull through.

Answer: I tried to get an answer out of Greg, but he's not budging. All he'll say is the audience shouldn't "assume anything" about Matt's fate. He then added, "This will be the hardest secret I have ever had to keep during a hiatus." Harder than whether Felicity ended up spending the summer of '99 with Ben or Noel? Hard to believe.
