[Warning: This story contains major spoilers from Wednesday's midseason finale of Arrow. Read at your own risk!]
The real big bad of Arrow's second season was finally revealed!
It turns out Sebastian Blood's (Kevin Alejandro) quest to make super soldiers is under the direction of Slade Wilson (Manu Bennett). Sporting his infamous eye patch, Slade was seen in present-day Starling City, telling Brother Blood that he is determined to burn the vigilante's world to the ground. Why does he hate Oliver (Stephen Amell) so much after spending all that time with him on the island? Because, given a choice, Oliver instinctively saved Sara (Caity Lotz) over Shado (Celina Jade) on the island, much to the dismay of Slade, who had harbored feelings for Shado.
But that was the least of the action during Wednesday's midseason finale, which also featured Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) taking one giant leap to becoming the superhero we all know and love. What's next for him and the rest of Team Arrow? Executive producers Andrew Kreisberg and Greg Berlanti were on hand during a screening of the episode to tease what's next:
Katie Cassidy, Alex Kingston and Paul Blackthorne

On Arrow, Starling City isn't really fond of Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) right now because of his mother — along with Malcolm Merlyn (John Barrowman) — are why half of The Glades was leveled during the Undertaking. But it's not just Oliver who will seek the public's support as he attempts to rebuild the city: Arrow will also need their help if he wants to be seen as a hero, not the killer vigilante they've come to know. Now that Ollie has sworn to go about being a hero a different way, will the city support the Arrow? TVGuide.com caught up with Amell to get the scoop on that, the true nature of Isabel Rochev (Summer Glau) and the super-powered elephant in the room (Hint: The Flash!):

Since her film career lost momentum, Katherine Heigl is returning to TV in a CIA drama for NBC, but the actress' bad reputation might still wreak havoc on her attempted comeback.
