CBS Pilot News: Grant Show Finds a Purpose, and More

Grant Show, Julia Ormond

Jake who? In what I like to imagine is a calculated move to take himself off the "Melrose Place reboot" market, Grant Show has signed on to play the boss of Jenna Elfman's unexpectedly pregnant film critic in the CBS comedy pilot Accidentally on Purpose.

Since CBS' Swingtown got its groove off, Show has ... read more

Is Another 90210 Reunion In Store?

Grant Show

Kelly Taylor definitely had her share of men during her original 90210 days. There was Dylan, Brandon, Colin, Matt — she even dated Steve in the early years. But one of her short-lived ex's, Jake Hanson (played by Grant Show), may be making a return to the 90210 reboot for a long-overdue reunion.

It's Grant Showtime on Private Practice ... and Melrose 2.0?

Grant Show, Private Practice

This week on ABC's Private Practice (Wednesdays at 9 pm/ET), Addison feels the brotherly love when Grant Show begins a stint as her studly sib. In this TVGuide.com Q&A, Show previews Archer Montgomery's first Oceanside Wellness hook-up, ponders why Swingtown couldn't keep it up, and reveals whether Jake Hanson might turn up on the CW's "new" Melrose Place.

TVGuide.com: What brings about this surprise visit from Archer?
Grant Show: I come into town because I miss Addison. When she was living in New York we were real tight, so I try to get her to come back to New York with me. In the meantime, I start a little somethin'-somethin' with Naomi — just to piss off my sister, I think! [Laughs]

TVGuide.com: What is the dynamic between Addison and Archer?
Show: I don't know if you've ever hung out with rich siblings, but they have very strange relationships. Almost incestuous ... read more

Grant Show Swings By Private Practice

Grant Show by Jean-Paul Aussenard/ WireImage.com

Grant Show — presumably minus the '70s 'stache — will be paying a visit to ABC's Private Practice early in the new season, playing a "charming and flirtatious" doctor with ties to one of the Oceanside Wellness regulars. Show is booked for just one episode, says EW's Ausiello, and the implications of his extracurricular work as they relate to Swingtown are unclear. Show's CBS series has been struggling to gain a foothold in the ratings, yet certainly has not been lacking for buzz or headlines. — Matt MitovichRelated:• Exclusive: Private Practice Landos Billy Dee Williams • VIDEO: Does Private Practice's Naomi Have Designs on Del? read more

Swingtown's Grant Show Must Go On

Grant Show, Swingtown

Grant Show flashes back to the '70s with the sleeper hit Swingtown (Thursdays at 10 pm/ET, CBS). We caught up with him for a quick chat. TV Guide: As a '70s wife-swapper in CBS' Swingtown, you spend a lot of time half-dressed. Does that create any awkwardness on the set?Grant Show: No, but I'm telling you, I have to go to the gym all the time now! I thought I was done with that! As a matter of fact, as soon as I'm done talking to you, I'm going to the gym. TV Guide: God bless ya! Here's a burning question: Is the mustache real?Show: Yeah. I've had it since February of last year. I get some funny looks. Recently I was sitting at a restaurant here in Hollywood and a couple of girls who I didn't know were talking with us, and one of them leaned over to my buddy and asked, "Is your friend a porn star?" Video Q&A: Can Swingtown Keep it Up?

All the sex, that is? Clad in my '70s-feel Adidas track jacket and ringer tee, I asked Grant Show and Molly Parker about their saucy new series, and whether the rumor is true that CBS is toning down Swingtown's tawdrier content. Grab a friend (...or two) and enjoy the video! read more

Swingtown Sexes Up CBS

Swingtown by Cliff Lipson/CBS

The latest show added to the CBS roster isn't what you expect. No cops, judges or even lawyers are the focal point of this one. Instead, Swingtown, takes you back to the self-indulgent era of the '70s when Quaaludes and trading spouses with your neighbors was in style. And the best part is Grant Show plays his famed manwhore role just like back in the good ole days of Melrose Place (except with a serious stache goin' on).Watch it now! | More online videos read more

Lana Parilla and Grant Show by Jordan Strauss/WireImage.com

Grant Show, along with castmates Jack Davenport, Miriam Shor, Molly Parker and Josh Hopkins, partied like it was 1976 Tuesday night at the CBS Lot in Studio City. The "Swingtown Block Party" served up plenty of disco, cheese fondue and high-cholesterol foods like doughnuts and french fries. The ex-Melrose Place hunk is eager for his CBS series to premiere, so he can finally tell people why he's grown a 'stache worthy of Burt Reynolds. "I can't wait for this to come out so people know why I have this thing on my face!" he laughs. "It's kinda not cool in this era." On the series, Show plays an airline pilot who's one half of the swingingest couple among a set of sexy Chicago-suburb swingers.Show is digging the vintage duds, but says, "I've spent more time in [this] wardrobe than the rest of my career, put together!
