Scifi.com's much-anticipated 10-part Battlestar Galactica webisode series, "The Face of the Enemy," started Friday. Veteran BSG scribe, and co-writer of the "'sodes," Jane Espsenson, spoke with TVGuide.com about exploring the character of Lt. Gaeta — including that he is bisexual and his past relationship with Cylon "8" (Grace Park) and current relationship with Lt. Hoshi (Brad Dryborough). Espenson also discussed what she is most excited for in the forthcoming Season 4.5, premiering Jan. 16 (10 pm/ET).
TVGuide.com: Do these webisodes take place before Gaeta's leg injury?
Jane Espenson: No, these are post-leg [amputation]. They were designed to fit into the timeline as viewers are experiencing it — roughly between the two halves of Season 4. Technically, the events of the 'sodes fit during the next episode that will air, so they are a very slight glimpse into the future if you watch them now.
TVGuide.com: Why did you decide to have Gaeta be gay (or bisexual)? ...

"Frak" may be an overused phrase when reporting on Battlestar Galactica news, but the fact that Sci Fi will be posting 10 new webisodes — that will lead up to the Jan. 16 premiere — is frakkin' sweet!

Sci Fi announced that the 3-4-minute chapters will complement the stories played out in on air episodes and give viewers more insight into characters and events from the fourth season.
The webisodes titled, "The Face of the Enemy," follow the story of a stranded Raptor ship...

Jeers to The Cleaner for being such a mess. Never have I seen a show try so hard to be gritty and end up so corny. Benjamin Bratt's overheated A&E drama opens with a Law & Order-like disclaimer, stating that "extreme interventionist" William Banks is "not a cop. He's not a superhero. He's just a man with a Calling. This is his story." That story includes some of the hokiest dialogue ("Get the team together we got a kid in trouble!") and worst acting I've ever seen (sorry, Grace Park fans). Somebody needs to send The Cleaner's writers into rehab: They're addicted to clichés. Share your own raves and rants about other shows on the Reader Cheers & Jeers discussion board. We may feature your Cheer or Jeer on TVGuide.com or in TV Guide magazine!

Question: Last week's Battlestar Galactica, "Downloaded," was the most perfect hour of television I have seen all year. If Tricia Helfer, Grace Park and Jim Callis don't get Emmy nods for that piece of perfection, then the whole race is a sham.
Answer: You'll get no argument here, Brian. And after watching an advance screener of the two-part season finale — airing March 3 and 10 — I'm going to add the incomparable Mary McDonnell to the Emmys' must-list. Oh, speaking of the big climax, it'll probably come as no surprise that it's fan-frakking-tastic. Before it's over, two major characters will get hitched, two closeknit characters will become estranged and another Cylon model will be revealed. But the big twist comes in the final 30 minutes of the second episode. All I'll say is it's a Galactica first and it's something you'll have to read to
