I just had to respond to ...

Question: I just had to respond to Jena's comments about implausabilities in the "plot" of High School Musical 2. Let's remember it is a preteen movie from Disney. I've seen all the Astaire/Rogers movies and I have to say that the implausabilities in their plots (and they are legion!) do not dim their charm one bit!
Answer: Excellent point. And to all you kiddies who haven't discovered Turner Classic Movies yet, we're talking Fred and Ginger here, the Depression-era precursors to Frankie and Annette — I don't think I've ever typed their names in the same sentence and doubt I'll ever do it again! Anyway, I can't remember how many times I've heard my mother remark how silly the plots of the Astaire/Rogers movies are, and yet who cares? As long as they keep dancing cheek to cheek, I'm in heaven. Also in reference to Jena's disdain for HSM2, here's this from Christine: "I have an 8-year-old in the house and had no choice but to watch the whole movie. I'm actually glad I did. Annette Bening Is a Real Lady Killer

News flash: Annette Bening has once again fallen in love with a charming, wealthy older man who has a reputation for being a bit of a Casanova.

But unlike the story of Bening's real-life romance — her marriage to Warren Beatty has been going strong for nearly 14 years now — there's no happy ending for the character the Oscar-nominated actress plays in HBO's Mrs. Harris (premiering Feb. 25 at 8 pm/ET). Inspired by Shana Alexander's best-selling book Very Much a Lady, the movie explores the sensational 1980 murder scandal involving Jean Harris, the middle-aged headmistress of an exclusive girls' boarding school who shot and killed her longti read more

Guest Columnist Lisa Rinna Kicks Up Her Heels

You never really know how hard dancing is until you get in there and start. Fortunately, I'm a workout fiend. I've done a lot of yoga over the past 10 years, and pilates, which is very dance oriented. So my body was ready for this. Or so I thought... I've had a couple of ballet classes in my life, but ballroom? There's no comparison. The pros make it look so easy. But I'm slipping and falling all the time because I'm a klutz. I'm beat-up all over. The very first day of rehearsals, I got a big fat blister and I said, "I gotta put socks on." So I have this thin pair of black cotton socks — not very pretty — but they do the job. The question was, could I? The waltz, the rumba, they're all hard as hell. But I thought, "OK, Renée Zellweger and Catherine Zeta-Jones did this for Chicag read more
