Daisies' Dog, Phenomenon, Virtual CSI: NY

I now have a new favorite TV character this season, and it’s of the four-legged variety. Of course I’m talking about Digby, the stalwart and silent and absolutely gorgeous canine companion of Pushing Daisies’ life-affirming hero, Ned. This golden retriever was the first dead object (run down on a highway) to be revived by Ned as a child, and their attachment was one of the first and most persistent nitpicky complaints I fielded from the show’s naysayers. "How could Ned and Digby not have touched at least once over the years?" they wondered. A little boy and a faithful dog, how is it possible they restrained themselves from the heavy petting that comes so naturally in youth? My answer (beyond the obvious explanation that Pushing Daisies is a fantasy and we should just sit back and respect the rules we’ve been presented): Digby understands what’s going on. He knows that to be touched by Ned is to be sent to doggie heaven. He doesn’t need to be told. ... read full article

  • The poor dog is having seisures. Needs vet attention. Not funny. Had to have my beloved dog put to sleep after trying medication to stop the seisures. Very sad.......
  • That dog is definitely having a seizure. If you watch that 2nd video it is very obvious. My dog had epilepsy and the way the dog looks in the 2nd video is all too familiar. I really...

April 2, 2007: He's Not Cheap, He's My Brother

Tonight's episode was definitely one of my favorites. I loved being able to see what Charlie, Alan and Jake might look like in 2036. I also found it funny that a box of Milk Duds at the movie theater will cost us $25 in the future. Somehow, I think that estimate may not be far off, but let's meet back here in 29 years and see, shall we? Getting back to the present day, we find Alan is still being as frugal as ever. His ability to dodge a bill is almost an art form. In the first scene alone, Alan managed to score a free night at the movies for him and Jake. That night ended up costing Charlie over 80 bucks, but as we soon learned, that's the last time Charlie was going to let Alan use his excuses to bail on a bill. Fast-forward to the night of Charlie and Alan's double date. Things seemed to be going really well, and Alan's date even suggested that after dinner they should "go absolutely crazy tonight." Yes, it seemed as though the night contained a lot of promise, until the check ca... read more

News Sensation
Geraldo Rivera ventures into syndicated news for Fox

Love him or hate him, Geraldo Rivera has always been impossible to ignore. He made his first big splash in 1971 on New York City's WABC, with a groundbreaking exposé of wretched conditions at Willowbrook, a Staten Island school for the mentally ill, and he hasn't been far from the spotlight since. As an investigative newsmagazine journalist, daytime talk-show host or cable-news anchor, he's never been afraid to take risks. So it's no surprise he's taken up the daunting task of anchoring a syndicated daily half-hour news show for Fox — Geraldo at Large, starting Oct. 31 (check listings). The Biz recently talked with him about the upcoming project. TV Guide.com: You were in a secure spot at Fox News Channel, the No. 1 cable news network. You had a weekend show and were being dispatched to the big story when necessary....Rivera: It wasn't just a secure spot — it was the No. 1-rated cable news program on read more

This is only the beginning of...

This is only the beginning of October and guess what? NBC hits us with a Crossing Jordan-Las Vegas crossover stunt. Oh, joy. On Sunday a perfect storm of circumstances enabled Danny to hop on a plane to Beantown to help Jordan and Woody figure out why a Montecito showgirl jumped to her death in front of the morgue crew. Not so sure about the Jordan-Danny chemistry, but I did dig the Danny and Woody frat-boy rivalry that managed to be simultaneously dorky and cute. And like the good procedural that Crossing Jordan is, the case was wrapped in a neat and tidy little package in under an hour... well, sort of. Woody was still in the City of Lost Wages steaming things up with Sam, and Danny invited Jordan to join him at the Montecito (for a little somethin'-somethin', maybe?). Jordan hesitated and mentioned something about not being the spontaneous type. So, not realistic. The "Crossing Over Vegas" spectacular continued on Monday night read more
