While waiting at a hospital, Rembrandt (Cleavant Derrick) is mistaken for the Duke (Clinton Derricks-Carroll) by the pregnant Duchess Danielle (Victoria Mahoney). Thinking she needs a transfusion, he goes into surgery with her. Only later do Quinn (Jerry O Connell) and Wade (Sabrina Lloyd) find out that it s not a transfusion, but a transference of the fetus. A news report declares the situation, stating that the real Duke Rembrandt has been missing. Quinn sneaks into the operating room to warn Rembrandt, but he s been sedated. Quinn is grabbed by the Duchess aide, Lady Mary (Hallie Foote), and the Lady s nephew, George Stellos (Dan Gauthier), head of Palace security. Arturo (John Rhys-Davies) intercedes, saying they are the Duke s new assistants. Later, at the palace, the Sliders visit Rembrandt as he awakens. Arturo explains how an epidemic destroyed women s ability to complete the pregnancy, and how once men take the fetus, gestation speeds up.
