Beeswax -- A pair of identical twin sisters -- one, who has been paraplegic since youth and gets around in a wheelchair, and the other -- 'same face, different bodies.'
A marvelous new film from Andrew Bujalski (Funny Ha Ha, Mutual Appreciation), one of the brightest stars in indie film, Beeswax revolves around the personal and professional entanglements of twin sisters Jeannie and Lauren - played by extraordinary newcomers Tilly and Maggie Hatcher - living in Austin, Texas. Jeannie co-owns a vintage clothing store with Amanda, a semi-estranged friend who she fears is trying to end their partnership. Lauren leads a looser, less tethered existence and is considering getting out of the country altogether. When Jeannie receives an email from Amanda threatening a lawsuit, she calls her law student ex-boyfriend Merrill for help. Eager for distraction from his own problems, he begins helping the sisters with theirs. Imbued with an innate charm, Beeswax is a story about families, friends, lovers and those awkward moments that bring all of them together.

From director Andrew Bujalski (Funny Ha Ha, Computer Chess), one of the brightest stars in indie film, Beeswax revolves around the personal and professional entanglements of twin sisters Jeannie and Lauren—played by extraordinary newcomers Tilly and Maggie Hatcher—living in Austin, Texas. Jeannie co-owns a bright, candy-colored vintage clothing store, and when a conflict with her business partner threatens to boil over, she turns to an ex-boyfriend, Merrill (Alex Karpovsky), who is recently graduated from law school and all too eager to try to fix the sisters’ problems as a way of ignoring his own. Soon everyone is trying to lend each other a hand but nothing is going according to plan. Charming and intimate, this is a story about how we depend on our families—the kind we’re stuck with, and the kind we build for ourselves — and the beeswax that holds them all together.
Tom Berenger, Charlton Heston and James Coburn star in this exciting Western adventure which traces the troubled Utah settlement of the early Mormon church. In the 1800s, thousands of Mormons set out on a treacherous trail for the promised land of Utah. Among them was young Miles Utley (Berenger), one of controversial prophet Brigham Young's (Heston) loyal followers and trained protectors. But when sharpshooter Miles averts an assassination attempt on Young, instead of gratitude from the congregation, Miles is beaten and left for dead. Rescued by a church elder's unhappy wife, he learns of a conspiracy against Young. As the pieces come together, Miles finds himself caught up in a bizarre series of events involving blackmail, hypocrisy and possibly his lifelong mentor Porter Rockwell (Coburn). The story explodes into action as secrets are shattered and lives are destroyed in this searing, unforgettable film.
