Top Chef: Just Desserts' Sally: I Don't Regret Having Orlando Make My Showpiece

Sally

Johnny Iuzzini kept criticizing Sally Camacho for having sous chef Orlando make her showpiece, but she doesn't think that cost her the Top Chef: Just Desserts win. "I fell short on my plated dessert and if I had executed what I had planned, I would have won," Camacho tells TVGuide.com. The pastry chef couldn't finish off her spheres as she planned in the end. How did she run of time? Find out. Plus: See what else she had to adjust on the fly.

Top Chef: Just Desserts' Matthew: I Felt Like the Odd Man Out

Top Chef Just Desserts: Matthew

Matthew Petersen took a risk and it didn't pay off. Far from a showpiece specialist, the Top Chef: Just Desserts finalist opted to make a sugar showpiece instead of a chocolate one — which he was familiar with — in the finale, only to have head judge Johnny Iuzzini criticize him for taking the gamble. "I needed to do that to have a chance," he tells TVGuide.com. "It's not something I do. I make plated desserts. I don't make showpieces. ... But I was totally stoked [with how it turned out]. It was standing! It looked good and more importantly, I was proud of it." See what else he has to say about being the underdog, why he didn't want sous chefs and blowing Gail Simmons' mind with speculoos.

New Critics, New Host, New Format: Producers Dish on Spicing Up Season 3 of Top Chef Masters

Top Chef Masters, Curtis Stone, Ruth Reichl and James Oseland

It's hotter in the kitchen this time around on Top Chef Masters.

In Wednesday's third season premiere, three of the 12 master cheftestants will fail to complete their Quickfire dishes (failures made all the more painful because the chefs are paired off in head-to-head combat). The group is then immediately hit with a round of Restaurant Wars.

Bringing out the contestants' competitive edge is just part of an overall revamp to the Top Chef spin-off, which arrives following viewership declines between the first and second seasons (2.2 million viewers vs. 1.6 million). Gone are host Kelly Choi, critics Gael Greene and Jay Rayner, the five-star rating scale and the tournament-style elimination. The masters are still playing for charity but, by design, they'll feel more... read more

Top Chef's Richard: I Wanted to Embody the Spirit of the Underdog

Richard Blais

After two years, Richard Blais finally "exorcised his demons" about losing Season 4 of Top Chef by winning All-Stars. So does it mean more to win an all-stars edition as opposed to a regular season? "I think so, for sure," he tells TVGuide.com. "I had to wait two years to get another opportunity. It just worked out really well. I learned a lot from the first time around. I think winning All-Stars — the field and the competition are a lot deeper." See what else the Season 8 champ has to say about his victory, if he really needs to see a therapist and if he'll take Fabio to Barbados.

How close was last night's elimination vote on Top Chef: All Stars? Razor-thin!

TV Guide Magazine had exclusive access to the "last supper" challenge in the Bahamas, where guest judge Wolfgang Puck initially indicated that he preferred cheftestant Antonia Lofaso's single bite of grouper to Mike Isabella's surf-and-turf concoction. On the Set: Top Chef All-Stars' Bahamas Showdown

Top Chef

Seated around a table at a lavish estate in the Bahamas, the Top Chef All-Stars judges are ready for their "last supper." The only ingredient that's missing? "I need a pillow to sit on," says Tom Colicchio, prompting guest judge Wolfgang Puck to request one as well. "Hey, Wolf, just sit on your wallet," quips Colicchio. "You'll be fine."

The judges crack up, but it's no laughing matter for the remaining cheftestants: The winner's billfold will be fattened with $200,000, the show's biggest prize ever. This week's elimination challenge is inspired by the book My Last Supper: 50 Great Chefs and Their Final Meals by Melanie Dunea, who joins Colicchio, Puck, host Padma Lakshmi and judges Gail Simmons, Masaharu Morimoto and Michelle Bernstein for the feast.
