Elton John and Helen Mirren will make their Saturday Night Live hosting debuts in April, NBC announced Tuesday.
John is scheduled to host April 2 and will pull double duty as he'll also perform with musical guest Leon Russell. John's only previous appearance on the sketch show came in 1982 as a musical guest. John and Russell recently released an album titled The Union.

Waiting to hear Foo Fighters songs on Glee? Don't count on it happening anytime soon.
Front man Dave Grohl says it's every band's right to decide whether their songs should appear on the show and Glee creator Ryan Murphy shouldn't be offended if someone turns him down.

The bootylicious Beyoncé Knowles is throwing politics and the writers' strike to the left and has officially signed on to perform at this year's Grammy Awards. ET Online reports that the Foo Fighters will also be joining Ms. Knowles as performers at the event, despite the possibility of crossing the picket line.Even though musicians (and actors, so far) are some of the few people in entertainment not on strike, the Grammys have been in jeopardy thanks to pressure from SAG on card-carrying members who are also music artists (or vice versa, such as Justin Timberlake). Saturday Night Live has revealed its lineup for the first three weeks of the new season. As previously reported, the late-nighter returns on Sept. 29 with 'baller host LeBron James and musical guest Kanye West. (Have I mentioned how much he rocked the TV Guide after-Emmys party? It was insanity.)On Oct. 6, Superbad auteur Seth Rogen oversees the show, with musical guest Spoon. (No relation to the Loving Spoonfuls, I imagine.) Then on the 13th, we get Jon Bon Jovi as host with the Foo Fighters delivering the tunes.
