When the bullying prince of a middle European nation tries to kidnap the auto and its inventor, he grabs the wrong guy and the wrong car. So the adventure becomes a rescue mission that takes the group and their wonderful car to a strange Oz-like world of castles and pirates, where nothing is as it seems. Hogg (James Robertson Justice) is forced to accept two female passengers, including chanteuse Hélène (Brigitte Bardot), and romance aboard reaches a fever pitch.
