The most recent fall-pilot developments, as reported by Variety: NBC has nabbed X-Men's Famke Janssen to fill the lead in House creator David Shore and Peter Blake's untitled drama about a female cop. Kidnapped's Michael Dinner will bring Jaime Sommers back to life, directing NBC's The Bionic Woman. ABC has picked up a police precinct-set comedy from Britcom scribe Victoria Pile (Smack the Pony).

So right away I was thinking Its not even December why are we getting a Christmas episode already Then I remembered that we only have two more episodes left for this season the season finale airs as early as December 12 and December begins this Friday Happy holidays Actually this episode was more like Halloween meets Christmas Id like to officially place Jacqueline Bissets James character in the category of TVs all-time creepiest characters As soon as Sean asked Reefer the homeless man Charles Haid to stay the night at McNamaraTroy after Sean stitched up his face I knew that James would make Reefer her next victim But I didnt expect her to kill him by removing just about all of his organs how refreshing Then I thought about it of course she had to kill him and strategically remove his body from the premises without the knowledge of the FBI surveillance guards If she kept him alive with just an organ or two removed it wouldve been too obvious

Question: Thank god for FX and its Famke-love. Any news on what Famke Janssen's character will be on The Shield?
Answer: As I mentioned in Press Tour Diary: Fox Day Two, it's Franka Potente, not Famke Janssen, who's doing The Shield. And she's playing the wife of an Armenian mob boss. BTW, FX screened the sixth-season premiere for critics at press tour, and I'm not overselling it when I say it's a step up from brilliant. There's a scene between Forest Whitaker and Michael Chiklis outside Kavanaugh's house that will give you goose bumps. I'm counting the days until January.

Question: What do you think about this for the three new characters they are looking for on Lost: Famke Janssen as the "leader," Elisha Cuthbert as the girl in her "early twenties" and Matt Cedeno (Days of Our Lives) as the "Latino hunk."
Answer: I've got three better ideas: Roberta Weiss (Santa Barbara), Emily VanCamp and Y Tu Mama Tambien's Diego Luna.

Famke Janssen
Question: I take issue with your answer to Shelley's question in last week's column. The newest Nip/Tuck preview features several clips of Famke Janssen that are almost definitely not from last season. Also, I don't think they would use her in the promo if she was not going to be coming back. Just my opinion!
Answer: Since you clearly don't believe me, I'll share with you a direct quote from FX's Nip/Tuck spokesman, Scott Seomin: "The Famke scene in the new promo trailer was shot last year but not used episodically. It ended up on the cutting-room floor." FXecs featured Famke in said promo because they were hoping she'd come back — and, as luck would have it, hope sprung eternal late Monday: Seomin now confirms that the X-symbol will film a fa

Question: I think you're wrong about Famke Janssen possibly not being back on Nip/Tuck. Why do I say this? In the previews they're showing for the new season she is in a couple of clips. Now let's try to be more observant!
Answer: I'll make you a deal: I'll try to be more observant if you try to be a little less naive. Those clips of Famke were from last season. There's still no deal for this season. (I didn't want to take that tone with you, but you kinda forced my hand, Shell.)

Question: What the hell!?!? How could voters ignore everyone on Nip/Tuck, especially Julian McMahon and Famke Janssen, Denis Leary of Rescue Me, Matthew Fox on Lost, Veronica Mars' Kristen Bell, Shohreh Aghdashloo and Mary Lynn Rajskub of 24 and the true comedic stars of the last half of DH's first season, Eva Longoria and the underused and underappreciated Nicollette Sheridan. I can't believe the dismal Will & Grace continues to score nominations. Damn! What were these people watching? Reno 911 deserved a shot! Why are voters ignoring FX and Comedy Central, yet HBO gets so much acclaim?. I mean, Six Feet Under? Give me a break! How frustrating! Matt, help me see a silver lining!
Answer: What, and halt such a full-bodied rant in midstream? The list of indignities goes on and on, doesn't it? But a good point when it comes to basic cable networks like Comedy Central and FX not getting the respect of HBO. I think my heart first sank at the very start of the Emmy nominations broadcast when

You can try to guess Nip/Tuck's twists in advance, but the FX plastic-surgery drama just keeps augmenting fans' expectations. In this week's jam-packed season finale alone, they had Joan Rivers, that serial stalker The Carver, and an over-the-top revelation: Ava Moore, the sinister sexpot played by X-Men's Famke Janssen, is really a man! Actually, it's more correct to say she's a male-to-female transsexual. Now that we didn't see coming.
"I always had [Ava's gender secret] percolating in the back of my mind," admits series creator Ryan Murphy, who had top-secret meetings with Janssen before proceeding with the story. "It was tricky. It's not every actress that you can [tell], 'By the way, you're a man,' and have them go, 'OK,' and commit."
After some initial concerns, Janssen took the plunge. "She... paused," Murphy recalls. "She just wanted to make sure it was done with grace and as a love story, which we di
