Faith Ford Plays it Straight on Hope & Faith

Faith Ford

Since her breakout role on Murphy Brown, Faith Ford has become a go-to for straight-woman roles, in no small part because of her turn opposite Kelly Ripa on ABC's Hope & Faith. To mark the first season's DVD release Tuesday, TVGuide.com caught up with the 44-year-old Alexandria, La., native. She looked back on the premiere's massive food fight between her and Ripa, plus the show's madcap costume changes and a slew of special guests, including Regis Philbin as Handsome Hal. She also talked about why her first-season teenage daughter was replaced by a then-newcomer named Megan Fox. read more

For the last two years she's been playing homemaker Hope to Kelly Ripa's flighty Faith in ABC's Hope & Faith. (Yes, it's confusing, and it always will be.) As the show readied for its hourlong third season premiere (airing tonight at 9 pm/ET), TVGuide.com spent a few minutes with the Louisiana native to discuss the Ted McGinley curse, today's crazy teens and the scene she never wants to do again. TVGuide.com: Hope & Faith's creator, Joanna Johnson, is no longer with the show. How is that transition going?Faith Ford: read more

Can you tell me when Miles ...

Question: Can you tell me when Miles and Corky got married on Murphy Brown and what the story was around that? I just saw an episode on Nick at Nite where they planned to renew their vows, and I don't ever remember them marrying on the show. Thanks much.

Answer: Miles and Corky got married in the Season 8 opener, "Altered States." In the episode, which first aired Sept. 18, 1995, Murphy was already facing the fact that her own wedding wasn't going to happen when Miles (Grant Shaud) and Corky (Faith Ford) dropped the bomb that they'd eloped.
