The Big Heat -- A melodrama of dice, vice and corruption. Glenn Ford stars as a rogue homicide cop who takes the law into his own hands when he sets out to smash a vicious crime syndicate and in the process finds who planted the car bomb that killed his wife.

A single mistake puts a 19-year old girl behind bars, where she experiences the terrors and torments of women in prison. Eleanor Parker received an Oscar nomination for her role, one of many fine performances elicited by noted director John Cromwell ("Abe Lincoln in Illinois," "The Enchanted Cottage"). Co-starring Agnes Moorehead ("Citizen Kane," TV's "Bewitched").

Screen legend Cary Grant and Betsy Drake (who were in real life husband and wife) star in a heartwarming comedy about a couple with three children who decide that three is definitely not enough. The comic complications of adopting a few new family members enliven this vastly enjoyable family film.

Montgomery Clift stars as George Eastman, a poor young man determined to win a place in respectable society and the heart of a beautiful socialite (Elizabeth Taylor). Shelley Winters plays the factory girl whose dark secret threatens Eastman’s professional and romantic prospects.
