Kitty Foyle: The Natural History of a Woman -- An indomitable working-class girl endures the rejection of Philadelphia society, makes her own way as a single woman and ultimately chooses between an unmarried arrangement with Main Line scion Wynnewood Strafford VI (Dennis Morgan) or marriage to a struggling physician (James Craig).

Ginger Rogers ("Top Hat," "Swing Time") earned an Academy Award for her dramatic portrayal of a white collar woman whose life is beset by troubles, including an affair with a married man and the death of her child. Based on a controversial best-selling novel by Christopher Morley, it was nominated for five Oscars, including Best Picture, Director, and Screenplay.
