The clock is officially ticking for Parenthood's Joel and Julia. There are only six episodes left of the beloved NBC drama, which is not only upsetting for the obvious reasons, but also because the estranged couple only has six episodes left to save their marriage.

Parenthood Renewed for Sixth and Final Season

We're going to need a bigger box of tissues.

NBC has renewed Parenthood for the family drama's sixth and final season, the network announced Sunday. The series was the last scripted NBC show to receive a renewal for the 2014-2015 season following days of silence about the fate of the Braverman clan.

Parenthood Boss on Jason Ritter's Return, Amber and Ryan's Reunion, "Hope" for Joel and Julia

Sarah Braverman's relationship status has been complicated pretty much as long as Parenthood has been on the air.

Whether it's her on-and-off (and on-and-off) relationship with Mark Cyr (Jason Ritter), her messy work romance with Hank (Ray Romano), or her recent flirty fling with her neighbor Carl (Josh Stamberg), Sarah's love life has never been truly stable. But just when Sarah (Lauren Graham) seemed to be heading in the right direction — i.e. picking her work over a guy — Mark returns on Thursday's episode (10/9c, NBC) to shake things up again.

Thursday Review: Rake, a Community Farewell, Vampire Turns 100

Fox enjoyed eight seasons of great success with House, a high-concept medical procedural about an incorrigible, deeply flawed medical genius. I'm not sure I could make it through eight episodes (I've seen two so far) of Louse — also known as Rake (Thursday, 9/8c) — which must have been pitched to Fox, via the series' Australian roots, as "House in a courtroom," a high-concept legal dramedy about an incorrigible, deeply flawed law maverick.

Thursday TV Review: Community Returns, ABC's Assets

Happy New TV Year! With the Winter Olympics only a little more than a month away, the networks are wasting no time premiering new and returning shows through January, making this almost as busy a month for programming as the heights of September. Let the winter midseason begin.

BACK TO SCHOOL: Some underdogs adopt a never-say-die mentality. In the fringe world of wackiness known as NBC's Community, it's more like never say graduate, as the cult comedy returns for an against-the-odds fifth season with back-to-back episodes (Thursday, 8/7c) once again under the warped tutelage of mercurial series creator Dan Harmon. (For more on his and the show's comeback, go here.)
