Should The Bachelorette Have Filmed the Reaction to Eric's Death? Show Stands by Decision

There's no handbook for how to proceed when a reality show contestant passes away and there certainly hasn't been much precedence for how to handle it if it happens while the show is still filming. When Eric Hill tragically died shortly after his exit from The Bachelorette, it wasn't a question if it would be addressed, but producers were faced with whether or not they should film and subsequently broadcast the remaining cast learning of the horrific accident.

The Bachelorette host on Eric's final episode: It's hard to know the right thing to do

On Monday's episode, following Andi's hometown dates with MarcusJoshNick and Chris, host Chris Harrison sat the five down in his living room to explain what had happened. Viewers watched as the group was given the shocking news and as Andi broke down remembering her last conversation with Eric. Eventually, the episode turned to a one-on-one with Andi, followed by a melancholy rose ceremony in which Andi again wondered how to celebrate the next phase of her journey amidst such tragedy.

The Bachelorette's Chris Harrison: Nick Crosses the Line Between Arrogance and Confidence

Cocky, confident or both? That's the big question surrounding The Bachelorette's Nick.

On Monday's episode, Nick pulled the move that happens just about every season — he "snuck out," showed up at Andi's hotel room and stole some extra time with her.  But while the remaining guys — and most of the viewing audience — believe Nick is arrogant, Andi seems to view his aggressiveness as sexy.

The Bachelorette's Chris Harrison: This Season Felt So Much Easier with Andi

Coming off of Juan Pablo's turbulent season of The Bachelor, it seemed that The Bachelorette could only go up. But Chris Harrison says his experience with Andi and the newest batch of hopefuls far surpassed his expectations.

"I don't know if it's because we had such a rough go on Juan Pablo's season ... but when you're with someone who's a delight and also really nice and kind and grateful it makes a huge difference," Harrison tells TVGuide.com. "Everything really permeates from the [star], and it's a ripple effect to the camera guys, producers, etc. When you're going to work for 24 hours straight and haven't showered and are in a jungle like these people do for this show, if you're doing it for someone really grateful it makes a big difference and makes the whole season better and it really comes through on air. It felt so much easier with her."
