Angry and frustrated over John Hill's constant reminders that he owns the Cheers' poolroom and bathrooms, Sam decides to take out the man's sweet, naive daughter Pamela for revenge. He brings the girl upstairs to dine at Melville's, playing up their romance in full view of Hill. The initial sight of his little girl with Sam doesn't seem to bother Hill, but by the time dessert is served he breaks down. In an effort to bribe Sam to stop seeing Pamela, Hill promises the poolroom and bathrooms will be rent-free. A joyous Sam returns to the bar to tell everyone of his success. The gang reminds him that he must break it off with Pamela, which Sam does easily, until he realizes that he really likes her. Following his heart, he invites her to go away for the weekend with him without telling her father. unfortunately, she stops briefly in the ladies' room and leaves her suitcase in the bar just as her father comes down from Melville's. Realizing that he can't hide any longer, Sam admits to Hill that he's still going to see his daughter. When Hill accepts it calmly, trusting his daughter's judgement, Pamela realizes that she was only attracted to Sam out of spite for her father. Now that the excitement of rebellion is gone, she tells Sam she doesn't want to see him any longer. Adding insult to injury, Hill then tells Sam that the rent on the poolroom and bathrooms is now double. watch
