CSI: Miami Preview: Emily Procter Finally Gets Some Action | TV Guide Interviews & Features | 11/19/2007
In tonight's CSI: Miami (10 pm/ET, CBS), ballistics expert Calleigh Duquesne is threatened at gunpoint and nearly run over by a bad guy's car. "Of all the shows we've done, this one was definitely my favorite," Emily Procter says of her big episode. "For years I've had the feeling of, 'How come the boys get to do all the fun stuff while Calleigh has to stay home in the lab?' I was so glad to finally get my due!" The episode heats up when Calleigh, off duty and boozed up on mimosas, spots ...

CSI: Miami's Cast Talks About Rory Cochrane's Return | TV Guide News Report | 9/21/2007
Eric Delko (Adam Rodriguez) will see dead people or at least one dead person. As a result of his posttraumatic stress disorder, the CSI: Miami agent will see the ghost of his fallen colleague Tim Speedle (Rory Cochrane), which will, for obvious reasons, send him into a downward spiral. "Delko is doing a good job at masking his trauma," Rodriguez told TV Guide at the CBS Monday Night Season Premiere party on Sept. 19. "But I think [a meltdown] is definitely a possibility."And while seeing...

May 14, 2007: Y? | CSI: Miami | 5/15/2007
Well, it was no, Were going to Brazil. In fact, it didnt even feel like a season finale. Where was the cliff-hanger? Where was the oh-my-god moment? Its a sad indicator of the state of CSI: Miami when the scariest aspects of an episode are the fashions. Was there ever a more disturbing haircut than that sported by Mama Wade? And was Ryan wearing a pseudo-Members Only jacket? Its depressing, really, because this one had potential. In the end, both Lucas and...

May 7, 2007: Cry, Wolfe | CSI: Miami | 5/8/2007
Here comes the new Wolfe, same as the old Wolfe. Talk about giving someone the benefit of the doubt. After the list of grievances Calleigh gave early in the episode (just to add to my list from last week), it turned out that all Ryan needed to do was admit the error of his ways while he was live on the air, and subsequently apologize directly to Horatio. If only everyone were so forgiving. The crime was a vehicle to serve up Ryans redemption, and as such, was mostly a yawner. As always,...

April 30, 2007: I Fell into a Burning Ring of Fire | CSI: Miami | 5/1/2007
Lets get the simple stuff out of the way first: Everyone was guilty of something. Claire dumped the gasoline to frame Anthony (her ex-boyfriend), who then sent Ron Cramer after her anyway, and Ron accidentally created the catalyst for the fire to start. Oh, and Ryan got fired for owing money to Michael Lipton. (Sidenote: I have a good family friend named Michael Lipton. Remember that episode of The Simpsons where a TV character has the same name as Homer? Thats how exciting this was...

April 23, 2007: Marriage, Revisited | CSI: Miami | 4/24/2007
I knew this episode was headed somewhere fun when our opening Horatio-ism was, Welcome to the divorce of the future. After I stopped laughing, I considered the fact that we had already seen a house with lasers, Kelly Carlson with a chainsaw, and a personal trainer named Mandi. What more does one need in a pre-credits sequence? Nothing, thats what.As always, for those who might have missed the big reveal, Hank and Laurie jointly killed Hanks lawyer when they...

April 16, 2007: They Tried to Make Me Go to Rehab | CSI: Miami | 4/17/2007
When Law & Order does ripped-from-the-headlines, it is so stunningly similar to real events that the disclaimers at the beginning and end seem superfluous. When CSI: Miami does the same, they take three weeks worth of Us Weekly, stick it in a blender, and see which elements survive. It makes me recall the Paris-Nicole rip-off from last year, where one of the girls ended up electrocuted in the tub by her assistant. What did we have this week? The actor from a podunk town made into a sex...

April 9, 2007: Little Big Caine | CSI: Miami | 4/10/2007
Just to get this out of the way, was there ever a more nonsensical piece of dialogue than, Harassment is not without its consequences/My team thrives on consequences? Im serious. What does that mean? How can one thrive on consequences?I have to admit to being slightly uncomfortable with this episode. Did we really have to have a Native American scalping someone as retribution? Granted, this Doug Lansing fellow did not seem to be the most altruistic person, but scalping?...

March 19, 2007: Natures Clones | CSI: Miami | 3/20/2007
Just take a moment and imagine how awesome it would have been had the CBS promos department not totally ruined the twist on this episode? When Beth Selby (aka Leslie Bibb No. 3) showed up 15 minutes before the end, it was less than shocking. Nevertheless, I was thoroughly creeped out.The whole conceit is kind of disturbing (if not downright unhygienic!): triplets who exchange everything in their lives to the point where theyre really all living one life. You marry one (Ashley), impregnate...

February 26, 2007: But He Stole My Pic-a-nic Basket | CSI: Miami | 2/27/2007
OK, lets work this one out together. Of the three men on the mancation sidenote: has anyone in the history of anything ever called a vacation a mancation? Or am I tragically unhip? the one who wasnt Dennis or Rob (but whose name I never caught) killed Tess, and Dennis killed the bodyguard Rocko. Then he got nervous and wanted to call the cops, so Rob and not-Rob smeared Dennis vest with vanilla bought from the man from Deliverance so that the only...

February 19, 2007: The Average Punch Is Under 20 MPH | CSI: Miami | 2/20/2007
Why is Delko back so soon? It seemed to be the question on everyones mind this episode including his. He even said, I came back too soon. Well, yeah. I suppose its one thing to not have a scar or any swelling after getting shot in the neck, but its another to not even be limping after getting shot in the leg. If House has taught me anything, its that you dont come back that easily from a leg injury. I nitpick because I love.I liked this episode....

February 12, 2007: I Will. Kill You. Clavo. | CSI: Miami | 2/13/2007
This past week I stayed away from all the spoilers I came across so that I could give you my honest reaction to however Delkos situation played out not an easy task for me, as I pretty much live for spoilers. What is my honest reaction, you ask? What the frak?! Frakity frak frak. Not to sound callous or anything here, but wouldnt it have just been kinder to kill this guy off? Yes, we have a very much alive Delko, but one who also has significant memory loss (the go-to plot...

February 5, 2007: Im Gonna Be Fine | CSI: Miami | 2/6/2007
Please look at the title of this entry. If you are a police officer and youve been shot, you are never, ever, ever, ever to say this. Ever. Even though Delko's getting shot was the worst kept secret on tvguide.com, I certainly wasnt expecting it to be anything like it was. Dare I say, CSI: Miami is giving us suspense again? When he got shot in the leg, I figured that was it. And then he just had to go and say, Im gonna be fine. Horatio didnt even have any...

January 22, 2007: We Both Try to Make Miami a Better Place | CSI: Miami | 1/23/2007
I got so excited when I read the description of tonights episode and found out that it involved Frank and a land mine. I was then crushed when I found out that it was not going to be an emotionally wrenching hour of bomb-squad awesomeness à la Grey's Anatomy, nor perhaps a friendship forged around a certain death due to a subway accident (we miss you and your Baltimore ways, Frank Pembleton of Homicide: Life on the Street). Instead, I learned to stay away from con artists and...

January 8, 2007: When the Shoes on the Other Foot | CSI: Miami | 1/9/2007
And so we say goodbye to deliciously creepy Nick Townsend. He is survived by his ex-wife, Natalia Boa Vista, who had him put in jail. His apartment had been described as Grand Central Station, with women coming in and out, but he had many other redeeming characteristics as well, such as stealing and stalking. Upon further consideration, he had no redeeming characteristics whatsoever, except that he was just basically awesome. I, for one, will miss him and his alter ego, Rob Estes....

December 11, 2006: Do Me a Favor, Be Seen and Not Heard | CSI: Miami | 12/16/2006
I certainly spent more than my fair share of time in the state of Florida on Thursday waiting for my massively delayed flight to leave (again, apologies for not getting this up earlier!), and yet I could not wait to get home and see it again onscreen. Luckily, I wasnt nearly as disappointed by this episode as I expected to be when I saw it opening with Sonya, the gorgeous lady terrorist. Once I got past the fact that that courtroom was larger and sunnier than any I had ever been in...

November 27, 2006: Semper Fi | CSI: Miami | 11/28/2006
Yes! We got the triumphant return of Rob Estes as Natalias ex-husband, and it happened not a moment too soon. That all-too-brief scene was definitely the highlight of last nights episode. The exchange between Maxine and Natalia after he asked out Maxine was too priceless. Are you mad? Not at you. Is no friendship sacred? (I guess that if Denise Richards can steal Ritchie Sambora away from Heather Locklear, then theres no hope for us mere mortals.)What...

November 20, 2006: I Cannot Believe I Took a Bullet for You | CSI: Miami | 11/21/2006
"Going, Going, Gone," was certainly comprehensive, and, for the most part, it was actually pretty good. Before I get to the last 10 minutes, Id like to say that the first plotline that was introduced was a nice change of pace from what weve had lately. It was a straight-up boy-meets-girl, boy-loses-girl, boy-kills-girl story that make up the better episodes of this show. Rebecca had simply outgrown her fiancé, and so he stabbed her with a letter opener. However, we did finally...

November 13, 2006: Take a Picture, Itll Last Longer | CSI: Miami | 11/14/2006
I feel bad saying that this was a mediocre episode after having seen all those pictures at the end of the women on whom this story was based. However, that doesnt change the facts, as any good CSI knows. Part of the problem was the fact that it was completely unbelievable that the powers that be would allow Natalia to stay on the case, once it was discovered that her sister was involved. If this were any other show, she would have been thrown off the investigation, because such a personal...

November 6, 2006: Jet Set | CSI: Miami | 11/7/2006
So, in the wake of Burn, baby, burn from two weeks ago, we got exploding cars yet again. We also had plenty of questionable plot points. First off, Im not totally sure I can believe that even our vaunted Miami-Dade CSIs can identify jet fuel purely by the smell. Secondly, they solved that whole murder in less than 24 hours? Wow. I didnt even realize this until they were running the call log on the dismantled phone/hydraulic transmitter and said that this weeks...

October 23, 2006: I Ain't Got No Santeria.... | CSI: Miami | 10/24/2006
As if murder isnt creepy enough, CSI: Miami decided to give us a full-blown Halloween episode this week. Delco pretty much summed up the plotline when he said, We have a golf club, a coffin and signs of a struggle. Poor Alyssa. Her boyfriend and her best friend decided to kill her over a work-related snub and a whole lot of gold in a burial plot. I liked that for the first time on this show (at least in my watching), the criminal got away with her crime and no one went after...

October 9, 2006: Where's Tyra When You Need Her? | CSI: Miami | 10/10/2006
I have to admit that this weeks episode left me cold dead cold, as Horatio might say. Whats fun about CSI: Miami is that its so over-the-top about the Miami money and celebrity culture; unfortunately, male models are not a culture I care about all that much. The whole story line almost seemed more like an excuse to introduce the subplot about Natalias abusive ex-husband than a fully formed idea in and of itself. In fact, it felt a little like "Americas Next...
