On this week's episode of The Bachelorette, Emily sadly and tearfully said goodbye to Sean and even host Chris Harrison says he welled up watching their farewell.
"I just wanted to give the guy a hug and make it OK and give her a hug," Harrison tells TVGuide.com. "You'll see next week at the 'Men Tell All' he's still heartbroken."
Keep reading for more on Harrison's reaction to the fantasy dates, why he's proud of Emily and whose hot-seat conversation next week is extremely uncomfortable. Plus: Why did Emily ask to not watch the guys' video messages?
Emily, Sean, Arie and Jef arrive Curacao for a week of fantasy dates. Before the dates begin, Emily talks about her time with all the men. She says she immediately had a connection with Sean, who she says gives her butterflies. Jef, who rode in on a skateboard Night 1, "marches to his own drum," she says. He has an edge, but is also kind and thoughtful, which she loves. Then there's Arie, who Emily says she hit it off with right away. Emily tears up as she imagines her life with Arie and how much he would adore her.
Enough with the mushy stuff, let's get to the hot-and-steamy dates! Sean and Emily meet on the beach where they take off in a helicopter that transports them to a private island. They talk about their hometown date and a comment his family made about him treating his ex like a buddy, which raised a red flag for Emily. Sean explains that after a while he wasn't in love with his ex, but that it's not the love he's experiencing with Emily. Sean then stutters and doesn't yet say the "L" word to her directly. Sean changes the topic and they go off to snorkel in the ocean. That night Emily and Sean have a romantic dinner on the beach. Sean talks about how he's ready for a family and then pulls out a letter he wrote for Ricki.
"I hope to honor you by loving your mom with every ounce of my being," he says. Emily melts as he continues to spout such meaningful words.
It's fantasy date week on The Bachelorette, but will single mom Emily offer up the overnight fantasy suite card?
The Bachelorette's Chris Harrison: "Emily narrowed it down to three phenomenal guys"
In the first clip from Monday's episode, Emily presents Jef with the offer, but he doesn't necessarily jump at the chance to spend a night alone with Emily. "That's a tough question to ask," Jef says.
It's hometown date week on The Bachelorette and Emily is headed to Chicago with Chris; St. George, Utah, with Jef; Scottsdale, Ariz., with Arie; and Dallas with Sean.
First, Emily spends some quality time with her daughter Ricki and imagines how each of the men would fit into their lives. She loves how sweet Chris is, that Jef has edge, the fun she has with Arie and how safe she feels with Sean.
Bachelor Pad is debuting soon and we've got the first look at the upcoming season.
Check out the cast of Bachelor Pad 3
On the third installment of the ABC reality series, Bachelor and Bachelorette alums, including runner-up Lindzi and franchise fixture Erica, will mix it up with five "super fans" — and fans they are. "Can I get a picture with you?" one of the guys asks host Chris Harrison. And then there's Kalon, who clearly hasn't changed at all since his time with Emily.
Emily Maynard and Chris
On this week's episode of The Bachelorette, Emily got not one, but two "I love you's." But just as the remaining men are falling hard, so is Emily — and it only gets tougher.
"We get to the end of hometowns and she realizes, 'Oh, crap. I can't be falling in love with four people when time is running out,'" host Chris Harrison tells TVGuide.com.
Keep reading for more from Harrison about Emily's split decision, Chris' meltdown and Sean's bold (and very hot) move. (For Harrison's thoughts on Arie's past relationship with a producer click here.)
Emily and the six remaining men are in Prague, just one week away from hometown dates! Who will get to take our Bachelorette home with him and who's getting left behind? Let's get to recapping.
The first one-on-one date of the week goes to Arie. The two walk around the city hand-in-hand, try some hot wine and share lots of kisses. But while everything looks perfect on the outside, Emily says she knows Arie is hiding something. Since Arie's past relationship with producer Cassie has become public, the show then cuts to...
Ryan and Emily
After enduring weeks of cocky comments, The Bachelorette's Emily finally let Ryan go — but not without him putting up a fight.
"It was a big hurdle for her to realize it wasn't right with Ryan," host Chris Harrison tells TVGuide.com. "She's very attracted to him, and a part of her wanted to say yes, but she has too many good guys here."
In our weekly chat, Harrison talks about Ryan's "weird" exit, why they allowed Emily an extra rose and how next week's episode handles Arie's past relationship with a producer. Plus: How is the new Bachelor Pad cast doing?
Emily and her men have arrived in Croatia for the next step of their Bachelorette journey, and Travis is the lucky man who gets the week's first one-on-one.
First up, he and Emily explore the town, hand-in-hand. They wind up at the "balancing stone" where if you can stay up on the rock, you'll be lucky in love. After a few failed tries, Travis hangs on. Good sign for things to come? At dinner, Travis tells Emily about his broken engagement and that no one did anything wrong, but it just wasn't right. He also admits he hasn't dated in the two years since. After a seemingly great dinner, Emily says, "From Day 1 you've been someone who's brought light to every situation...but I don't know if we have that romance." She lets Travis go (I'm actually surprised), and he is heartbroken.
Let's face it: Emily Maynard's a great date. In the midst of her stint as this season's Bachelorette, the 26-year-old sassy single mom from Charlotte, North Carolina, accepted our invite to paint pottery at New York's Make Meaning and talk a little shop. We may not have gotten a rose, but she sure won our heart....
