After what feels like the longest hiatus ever, Grey's Anatomy will finally return with 12 straight episodes beginning Thursday (9/8c, ABC) until the show's season finale in May.
When last we left the doctors of Grey Sloan Memorial, Jackson interrupted April's wedding to Matthew to declare his love for her, much to the shock and dismay of Stephanie and pretty much everyone else in attendance. Meanwhile, back at the hospital, Shane boldly and stupidly decided to be a hot shot and take the lead on an emergency surgery to fix the heart of Alex's father, which did not go well. So, what's next? TVGuide.com hit the set to get the scoop on each of the docs:
Ellen Pompeo and Patrick Dempsey
Great news, Grey's Anatomy fans: Ellen Pompeo and Patrick Dempsey have signed new two-year deals to remain with the show, TVGuide.com has learned.
Pompeo and Dempsey...
Wedding bells may be ringing during the Grey's Anatomy midseason finale on Thursday (9/8c, ABC). But there are a few hurdles for April (Sarah Drew) to get over before she says "I do" to Matthew (Justin Bruening). First on April's list will be getting her best friend and former lover Jackson (Jesse Williams) to show up. But that does not mean the quirky doc is having second thoughts about walking down the aisle.

Oh, Grey's Anatomy, you had me at hello... and you lost me at Bailey's OCD.
I've stuck with the show that made Shonda Rhimes a household name through Izzie's (Katherine Heigl) ghost sex, the Alex/Ava saga, "Intern Fight Club," and even that god-awful musical episode. When people ask me why I'm still watching Grey's, currently limping through its 10th season, my response has always been: "I'm going down with that ship." But Season 10 has me on the verge of jumping overboard. Here are six reasons why I'm ready to give up on Grey's:
Bailey is on the brink of losing it!
For several episodes now, the Grey's Anatomy doc has been exhibiting signs of becoming OCD — and Owen Hunt (Kevin McKidd) is planning to get to the bottom of it. What will happen when...
Kevin McKidd and Sandra Oh
Be careful what you wish for!
Cristina (Sandra Oh) learned that the hard way during Grey's Anatomy's 200th episode, when, after she pushed Owen (Kevin McKidd) to move on, he did — with fellow doctor Emma (Shameless' Marguerite Moreau). With Oh's exit the series at the end of the season, does this really spell the beginning of the end for Cristina and Owen? TVGuide.com caught up with McKidd to get the scoop:
On Thursday, Grey's Anatomy will celebrate a momentous milestone as the show airs its 200th episode. With that in mind, TVGuide.com decided to look back to the very beginning to find out how the cast of the ABC medical drama joined the show...
Ellen Pompeo has more than 200 episodes of on-screen drama under her belt as Meredith Grey on Grey's Anatomy, but now the actress is dishing on some of the behind-the-scenes shakeups.
In an interview with the New York Post on the set of the show's 200th episode, Pompeo reveals that creator Shonda Rhimes originally wanted Isaiah Washington to play Meredith's love interest on the show. But Pompeo said she told Rhimes she'd rather have Patrick Dempseyplay Meredith's now-husband, Derek Shepherd.
Jessica Capshaw, Sara Ramirez and Tessa Ferrer
For those Grey's Anatomy fans that hoped (or maybe prayed) that Callie and Arizona would find a way to get past the latter's infidelity in the Season 10 premiere, sorry, but it's going to be a tougher journey than that.
A Grey's Anatomy wedding and more scoop on Season 10
When the ABC medical drama returned, Callie (Sara Ramirez) immediately showed just how hurt she was by Arizona's (Jessica Capshaw) cheating by moving out of their apartment and taking baby Sofia with her. Will the two be able to work through this? TVGuide.com turned to Capshaw and Ramirez to find out what's in store:
Ellen Pompeo and Patrick Dempsey
Patrick Dempsey is riding a unicycle. It's 10 o'clock on a Wednesday morning, and the Grey's Anatomy leading man is playfully entertaining the cast and crew between scenes at a downtown Los Angeles theater complex. Long before Dempsey stepped into Derek Shepherd's sexy scrubs, he was (hidden-talent alert!) a champion juggler and avid student of the circus arts, and it's clear as he pedals around the set clad in a black tux that he's still got serious skills. "I'm tired of being an international superstar," he cracks. "I'm running away to join the circus!"
