Bill Maher continued to take aim at GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney's Mormon background on this week's episode of 'Real Time,' going so far as to create a fake polygamy controversy called 'Wiferism' to combat 'Birthers.'Although the 'Birther' movement has lost some steam since President Obama publicly revealed his birth certificate, Republican Congressman Mike Coffman recently said that he 'doesn't know' if Obama was born in the U.S., but believes that 'in his heart, he's not an American.' To show how much he thought of Coffman's theory (and to get in a few more Mormon jokes at Romney's expense) Maher introduced the concept of 'Wiferism,' the belief that Romney is a secret polygamist. Using classic 'Birther' rhetoric, he showed just how easy it is to create a controversy out of nothing:Using images of Romney's day to day life altered to show the effect of his 'unholy harem of obedient sister wives,' Maher elaborated on his 'Wifer' theory (which he really hopes he's wrong about).
