Ed McMahon Remembered at Special Tribute

Ed McMahon was honored by dozens of friends, family and celebrities, including Tom Arnold, who said the late Tonight Show sidekick was someone "100 percent of the people liked."

Arnold, who worked with McMahon on the 1997 WB sitcom The Tom Show, joked about McMahon's reunion with talk-show king Johnny Carson in heaven.

"Hey, Johnny, great news: I brought Farrah (Fawcett) and Michael Jackson with me. We're gonna have a hell of a show tonight," Arnold said at the Television Academy of Arts & Sciences tribute in Los Angeles on Wednesday.

Celebrities ranging from Tonight Show host Conan O'Brien to Britney Spears offered fond memories of Ed McMahon, a testament to the legend's wide influence and everyman appeal.

O'Brien said on Tuesday's Tonight Show that the most iconic second banana in the show's history played an "indelible part" in broadcasting history.

Contrary to popular belief, there now is proof that somewhere deep down, Donald Trump is a big softee. The real-estate tycoon-turned-media mogul announced Thursday that he would save Ed McMahon's Beverly Hills McMansion from foreclosure by buying it and leasing it to the former television host for an undisclosed amount, reports the AP. The saga of Ed McMahon's financial struggles continues.New York divorce attorney Norman Solovay is suing McMahon for more than $275,000, claiming that he wasn't paid for services rendered after he was hired to represent McMahon's daughter, Linda Schmerge, in a "matrimonial matter," according to E!. Earlier this year, McMahon faced foreclosure on his Beverly Hills mansion after falling behind on his mortgage payments to the tune of $664,000. McMahon blames his financial woes on a neck injury, which he says kept him from working.
