BB 5 Alum Di's Trying on All-Stars

Diane Henry, Big Brother 7: All-Stars

Last Thursday Diane Henry became the third and final alumna of Season 5 to be eliminated from the Big Brother 7: All-Stars house. The 24-year-old had engaged in a "showmance" with winner Drew her first time on the series and landed in third place, but this time she couldn't find people to ally with. TVGuide.com caught up with Diane to ask about the Mr. & Mrs. Smith rumor, Mike Boogie's crush and if she's still angry at read more

I read the CBS upfront news ...

BJ and Tyler, The Amazing Race

Question: I read the CBS upfront news about moving Amazing Race to Sundays at 8 pm/ET. I don't care that they moved the night — again — but why Sunday night? It will be constantly overrun by football games that go long. People who record the show will get to see half of 60 Minutes and miss the end of Race, and I'm afraid it'll begin to lose its audience. This doesn't seem like a good move to me, but maybe I'm worrying prematurely. It is only May, after all. What are your initial thoughts about the new time slot? Answer: My biggest concern isn't the football overruns, which have been a factor in CBS' Sunday lineup for years. People are used to this and should be able to adjust accordingly — as in: set extra time on the VCR or manually set the DVR, or (here's a thought) watch it live. The biggest hurdle is that Race will be going head-to-head against another powerful reality series already established in the time period, ABC's Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, which, like Race, is quite ... read more

I think for ABC's next ...

Drew Lachey and Cheryl Burke, Dancing with the Stars

Question: I think for ABC's next edition of Dancing with the Stars, they should have all-celebrity teams and have them coached by a professional dancer. It would be a lot more fun to have inexperienced celebrities who don't know each other teamed as partners to see how well they perform. And if ABC doesn't ditch all the fluff in this show (C'mon, two hours long? Please!) I won't watch it. (I basically TiVo it now and skip most of it anyways, but it's still a time killer.) Answer: If ever a show was made for the DVR era, it's Dancing with the Stars. Those last few installments were painfully stretched out — you're not kidding. (Watching in real time was never an option.) But I can't agree with your proposal to "fix" what ain't broken. Part of the appeal of Dancing with the Stars (and to a much lesser degree, Skating with Celebrities) is in watching these quasi-famous folks learn the moves by dancing alongside pros, who can challenge them to raise their game, which in the best instances ... read more

Dancing with the Stars Parts...

Dancing with the Stars Parts of tonight's looong two-hour finale reminded me of a wedding (even more than that awful band usually does): the way the rejected couples marched in and did their obviously unchoreographed freestyle, and then the finalists kept giving their partners loving looks like they were at the altar. Other parts made me think that my DVR was acting up — we watched the same clips at least three times, just in varying lengths and orders. They had to be absolutely certain that we knew just how far these stars had come. OK, I did enjoy all those rehearsal scenes showing how adorable the relationships between the pros and their star students had become. I love how much emphasis Stacy, Tony, Drew read more

Dancing with the Stars The first...

Dancing with the Stars The first hour of reminiscences and replays seemed like ABC's lazy way of saying, "We're not intimidated by an American Idol results show or the early round of women figure skaters, but just in case, we'll wait until 9 to show any real dancing." We did learn that Drew would rather get his legs waxed than do the samba again — spoken like a compassionate married man! I don't quite know what to say about Samantha's quickstep. Though she got the steps down and everything, she still had that aura of someone who tries too hard to get you to like her. Jerry and Anna: Could they rub it in one more time that Jerry wouldn't be there if it weren't for the fans? The fox-trot was elegant, but his steps always look more read more
