A New York delicatessen worker talks his way into a position as head basketball coach at a Nevada college. He accepts the job on the condition that he can bring his street-wise New York City players with him. The players are standouts on the court but lost in the classroom which leads to trouble.

Gabe Kaplan stars as David Greene, a New York deli owner who moonlights as a basketball coach at pickup games around the city. One day, David gets the offer of his dreams: a coaching position at Cadwallader College in Nevada. But success won't come easy: To keep his job, David and his team of misfits -- including a few street ballers he recruits in New York -- will have to take on the powerhouse Nevada State.
