Here s a local news report out of Tampa about a man who had to cancel his Spirit Airlines ticket because his esophageal cancer took a turn from the worse and doctors told him he had a short time to live and shouldn t fly anywhere. Spirit refused to refund the man s $197 ticket, because, as a spokesperson put it, Spirit will not make customers who follow the rules pay for those who don t. As we all know, Having your cancer take a fatal turn for the worse = NOT FOLLOWING THE RULES. Also, the guy was flying to Jersey to visit his daughter while she undergoes surgery.
