The Biggest Loser has all the elements of a covert operation: contestants train at a secret location under close supervision until they're lean, mean machines. The only thing missing has been Secret Service — until now. For the Season 13 makeover episode — split into two parts, airing tonight and next Tuesday, April 10 — the competitors aren't just rewarded with new haircuts, snazzy clothes and a chance to see their families: they also get to visit Michelle Obama at the White House.

The excuse for Week 12 was "I can't lose weight on vacation" and so of course we had to put it to the test....in Hawaii!! The contestants were super excited to hear that we were all going to the paradise island of Oahu. I was absolutely thrilled too as I love the beach! However, I knew it was going to be necessary for me to keep a close watch on the players as I anticipated much leisure and relaxation.

This episode's excuse was "I don't believe in myself." This is an excuse that the majority of contestants have been guilty of as well as a lot of viewers. Throughout the season, we have seen so many players getting discouraged simply because they didn't believe they could do something. It's just as hard for the trainers and the contestants loved ones to see their potential when they don't see it in themselves. You try everything in your power to expose their strengths and make them a believer. Most of the time I succeed and there have been moments where their fear and self-doubt got the best of them. Despite obstacles I never stop fighting and you shouldn't either!

We've already reached Week 10 this season and both teams have each won five weigh-ins so far! The theme of the week was "I can't get out of my comfort zone." The teams had to switch trainers and the winning team from the weigh-in would be the only team voting during elimination round, deciding who goes home from the losing team! Once I saw the Black Team (BT) approaching me in the gym, I knew something was up. When they told me I was to train them I was genuinely excited and ready to get started but their faces gave a different reaction. I could tell they were really apprehensive, scared, and uncomfortable but then again that was the intention. It's always great to work with a trainer that you trust and connect with but don't be afraid to change it up sometimes. You should welcome the challenge because it's another way to shock the body and prevent you from reaching plateaus.

This week's Biggest Loser episode opened with my Red Team (RT) joining the Black Team (BT) in the elimination room after the BT sent Daphne home. They all were told that they would be heading home the following day for 18 days and then return for a weigh-in! I thought this was the perfect time to put their habits to the test.
