First Look: Green Lantern's New Guy in Town

When Cartoon Network's Green Lantern: The Animated Series returns in September, Hal Jordan is finally back on Earth, having vanquished the rage-feuled Red Lantern Corps. But producer Jim Krieg cautions the audience "not to get too comfortable with the happiness Hal is feeling in his heart, because we're just gonna mess up his life again." That begins as soon as Hal gets home and finds he's been replaced as the Green Lantern of Sector 2814 by Guy Gardner, a character well-known to comic-book fans as a tactless and hotheaded bruiser. "He's like Hal Jordan cranked to Level 10," says producer Giancarlo Volpe. "He's that much cockier, more brash and a womanizer."

Exclusive First Look: Scooby-Doo Teams Up With Batman on The Brave and the Bold

It's a reunion nearly 40 years in the making when Scooby-Doo and his gang team up with the Dark Knight on a delightfully bizarre episode of Batman: The Brave and the Bold, airing Friday, April 1 (6:30/5:30c on Cartoon Network). PaleyFest Fall Preview: Report from NBC's Outsourced Party

TV Guide Magazine partnered with the Paley Center for Media for its sixth annual PaleyFest Fall Preview Party series, kicking off Sept. 9 with the gang from NBC's new workplace comedy Outsourced (premiering Sept. 23). The cast, headed by newcomer Ben Rappaport as Todd, a Kansas City man whose company transfers him to India, came from taping their Halloween episode. "Todd throws a party and I come as Hugh Hefner, with the velvet jacket, slippers and pipe," reported Rappaport, while Drew Carey Show vet Diedrich Bader, who plays another American import, told us that, earlier in the day, he "leapt out of a closet dressed as Frankenstein and got the [expletive] kicked out of me." With the characters working at a call center selling novelty items, some will utilize props to transform themselves into such clever disguises as a 'chick magnet' and a 'spice rack.'

Curb Shocker: Who Would You Choose?

'Fess up, fellow Curb Your Enthusiasm fans. Your first response to Sunday night’s pivotal episode was: What took her so long? When Cheryl left the TV version of Larry David in this blisteringly funny episode (reflecting, though one has to imagine far more humorously, the recent real-life split of Larry and wife Laurie David), you’ve got to admit that you’ve often wondered, as most of their acquaintances have, why she ever stayed with this misanthropic, myopically self-obsessed, shriekingly miserable kvetch-aholic.It took a turbulent plane flight for long-suffering Cheryl to wake up to the unnecessary turbulence in her domestic life. In a scene I’ve seen in promos since before the season began, but without a hint at the repercussions, Cheryl has the misfortune of calling Larry from her terrifying flight, to pass on some petrified final thoughts of love and whatnot, only to be hung up on by her distracted mate because he’s too busy with the TiVo repairman (an i... read more

"The TiVo Guy"

Knowing what any good Curb viewer already knows about Larry David's real life — namely that he and Laurie, his actual wife, recently divorced due to "irreconcilable differences" — this episode was uncomfortable to watch. Yes, if I called my husband from a rolling airplane and he asked me where the warrantee was for the TiVo, I'd be pissed, and I'd probably leave him, too. Actually that's a lie; my DVR means more to me than any man ever could. I'd probably be the one to be left. Like Larry, there's no other side to Leah. This is pretty much it.Can we blame Larry's friends (and restaurateurs) for siding with Cheryl? This is, after all, a man who wants to talk about the difference between real and fake crab during sex, and then claims he's complex. In the settlement, Cheryl gets Ted Danson, the Funkhousers (so much for Marty being Larry's best friend, eh?), Primo's, the cleaning woman, Simon, and by extension, the $10,000 Larry lent to Simon, since he's not getting it back.
