Robinson portrays a middle-aged clothing store cashier whose life is tragically changed when he becomes involved with Kitty (Joan Bennett), a predatory manipulating woman. He is a quiet and mild-mannered man, but his wife is a total shrew and so his chance meeting with Kitty leaves him easy prey for her schemes, which pull him deeper and deeper into a world of crime and deception. Events take an unexpected turn and the ending is one of those neat twists that go against the usual formula. This was a controversial film in its day and was banned for some time, probably because of the eventual fate of Robinson's character. One of those moody, darkly shadowed dramas at which Lang excels. A remake of Jean Renoir's La Chienne, adapted by Dudley Nichols.
Psychological study of an untried young Union soldier who panics in his first encounter with the enemy but regains his courage and emerges a hero. Based on Stephen Crane's novel.
A maverick con-man on the run from a femme fatale is mistaken for a fearless gunfighter in the wide-open mining town of Purgatory in this western comedy.
Captured on blu-ray at last comes "the greatest of all horror films" with "masterly special effects" (Danny Peary, Guide for the Film Fanatic). Memorable moments abound: a moviemaking expedition on a fantastic isle filled with dinosaurs and other prehistoric creatures; the giant simian's lovestruck obsession with the film shoot's blonde starlet (scream queen Fay Wray); Kong's capture; his Manhattan rampage; and the fateful finale atop the Empire State Building, where Kong cradles his palm-sized beloved and swats at machine-gunning airplanes. "It was beauty killed the beast." But in these and other great scenes, King Kong lives forever.

People come from far and wide to sample Farmer Vincent's distinctively flavored dried, smoked sausages, but one might well ask why there are so few people staying at his nearby motel. This horror comedy provides the graphic answer. It seems that the good farmer only uses the highest quality, specially processed human meat in his treats. To prepare the meat, he first harvests healthy tourists from his hotel. Next, he plants them into the ground up to their necks and with a sharp knife carefully slices their vocal chords. He and his portly sister then feed the victims until the meat is tender and well marbled with fat. Afterward they are promptly slaughtered, minced with a few secret herbs, and stuffed into sausage casings, which are then carefully aged in the smokehouse. His operation is abruptly cut off when Vincent's normal brother, Bruce, learns about the secret ingredients. In the end, the brothers grab chain saws and have a blood-soaked showdown.
Veteran actor Rory Calhoun stars as the delightfully fiendish Farmer Vincent in this deliciously ghoulish tale of the macabre that has now become a cult classic.
