Hillary Clinton, Oprah and More Bid Barbara Walters Farewell on The View

Barbara Walters was welcomed to her last episode of The View as co-host with a standing ovation, but the show quickly kicked into high-gear with the arrival of the first of many surprise guests: Hillary Clinton.

As soon as Clinton sat down, a shocked Walters told the former First Lady, "You know what? You look terrific here. Why don't you take my place on the show? People won't be asking you what you're doing next all the time."

Barbara Walters Reflects On Her Historic Career

Barbara Walters started smashing the TV-news glass ceiling in 1961 when she became the first female correspondent on Today. During the following five decades, the Massachusetts native was also the first woman to cohost a morning news show (Today in 1974), to coanchor a nightly news program (ABC Evening News in 1976), and then, for 25 years, to cohost the ABC newsmagazine 20/20. She became known as the Queen of Scoop as she wrangled major stars and world leaders for her trademark in-depth interviews and produced and hosted annual Oscar specials and The 10 Most Fascinating People. Finally, Walters conquered daytime 17 years ago with The View, the all-female talk show that dares to spotlight politics as well as makeup, cooking and gossip... read more

Amanda Knox: Murder Trial Ordeal Feels Like Crawling Through Barbed Wire

The Tuesday Playlist: Funny Ladies, ABC's Knox Exclusive, Grimm's New Night

Everyone's losing it — or more to the point, remembering how they lost it — on one of this season's more uproarious episodes of Fox's New Girl, a reminder of just how potent the comic chemistry can be between Zooey Deschanel and her BFFs when they all hang together, sharing embarrassing stories (some more mortifying than others) about how their "innocence" (such as it never was) was stolen. This episode (Tuesday, 8:58/7:58c) will be especially enjoyable for fans of Max Greenfield's Fat Schmidt slapstick and for those who've been waiting for Lamorne Morris' Winston to emerge from the sidelines and get some major LOL action. Jess (Deschanel) starts the trip down Painful Memory Lane with glimpses from Prom Night, which brings suitors including Teen Wolf's Dylan O'Brien (Stiles!) into her life. But it's Winston's grotesque hook-up and Fat Schmidt's messy night in college with the girlfriend who would become Merritt Wever (from Nurse Jackie) that you're likely to remember. All that and another great payoff at the end. No sophomore slump for this show.
