The Beat toured the world, performing with The Cure, The Police and Joe Jackson. In 1989, The Beat disbanded and lead singer Paul Collins launched a solo career. In 1997 and with encouragement from longtime friend Dee Dee Ramone, bassist of The Ramones, Paul Collins re-formed The Beat, who continue to record new albums and tour the world, performing hundreds of shows each year in the U.s., Japan, Canada, Spain, Italy, France, Sweden and throughout Europe.
Paul Collins founded The Nerves with Peter Case and Jack Lee at the age of 17. The Nerves lasted for 3 years, releasing their own DIY records and touring the U.S. and Canada with artists such as The Ramones and Devo.
