American Idol is zero degrees from Kevin Bacon after The Following star commandeered Ryan Seacrest's intro Thursday night for its result show. Awesome. But more importantly, one singer saw his or her dreams dashed.
It's Competitors' Pick Night on American Idol, where the Top 7 finalists get to pick songs for their competitors, and each singer gets to choose one of six options. Did anyone go the sabotage route, or was everyone altruistic?
The show finally finds something for Randy Jackson to do, as he introduces the theme of the night and interviews each singer about what they would select for their counterparts. (Everyone seems to be playing nice, for the record.)

So, what did the finalists ultimately decide on? Let's get to the performances:
Plenty of people were grossed out by Lady Gaga's performance at SXSW, in which she allowed artist Millie Brown to vomit on her during the song "Swine" — but Demi Lovato was actually angered.
"Sad... As if we didn't have enough people glamorizing eat disorders already," Lovato, who has spoken publicly about her struggles with bulimia, tweeted Friday. "Bottom line, it's not 'cool' or 'artsy' at all."
This week, Veronica Mars star Kristen Bell stopped by the Tonight Show and participated in a rousing game of Pictionary with Jimmy Fallon, Steve Harvey and Demi Lovato. Elsewhere, President Obama went on Zach Galifianakis' Funny or Die show "Between Two Ferns" to promote the Affordable Care Act, while Kevin Bacon explained the '80s to Millennials. And the YouTube series The Velveteen Lounge Kitsch-en offered some pointers on how to celebrate National Potato Chip Day.
