  • Father, Harry Stockwell, was the voice of Prince Charming in Walt Disney's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937).
  • As a teenager, took a break from acting and spent five years traveling around the U.S., working odd jobs such as prune inspector and railroad-spike driver.
  • At the age of 9, made his big-screen debut in period drama The Valley of Decision (1945), starring Gregory Peck.
  • Wrote and co-directed (along with singer-songwriter Neil Young) the 1982 quasi-musical comedy Neil Young: Human Highway.
  • Stockwell, who portrayed Admiral Al Calavicci on the NBC series Quantum Leap, received his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on February 29, 1992 – Leap Day.
  • Following Leap, appeared in a number of other sci-fi movies and TV series, including The Langoliers (1995), Star Trek: Enterprise, Stargate SG-1 and Battlestar Galactica.
