  • Threw the second perfect game in Yankees history on May 17, 1998, against the Twins.
  • Was Most Valuable Player in the American League Championship Series in 1998 as a Yankee.
  • Graduated from the same high school as Don Larsen, the only previous Yankees pitcher to hurl a perfect game. (Larsen's gem was Game 5 of the 1956 World Series.)
  • In 2000, at 37, became the second-oldest pitcher to win 20 games for the first time.
