It's duck and cover time at A&E. Since reality megahit Duck Dynasty lost more than half its audience over the past year, the cable network has been dodging bullets. Most recently, A&E executives canceled Longmire after three seasons, surprising the show's producers and angering fans.
A&E has given a 10-episode series order to Carlton Cuse's adaptation of the French series The Returned.
Longmire, the A&E crime drama starring Robert Taylor as a sheriff in Wyoming, has been renewed for a 10-episode third season, the network announced Monday. The series is A&E's leading original drama series of all time in total number of viewers.
Quack attack! After three days' worth of DVR usage was included, the A&E hit's season premiere on Aug. 14 drew a whopping 16.3 million viewers. "This show reaches a big swath of America," says David McKillop, A&E's executive vice president of programming. "This is not a boutique or niche show."
