Danny Glover

Danny Glover's stint on the new Fox drama Touch was a temporary one, as viewers found out last week. Now that Glover's character has been killed off the Kiefer Sutherland series, creator Tim Kring confirms that the actor had signed on to only appear in the show's first six episodes.

Last Thursday's episode ended with Glover's character, Prof. Arthur Teller, slumped over his... read more

Thursday TV in Review: Touch, Awake, Community, Archer

David Mazouz, Kiefer Sutherland

Anyone who thinks TV isn't trying hard enough to raise the bar this midseason should check out tonight's most distinctive shows. With the official series launch of Fox's fantastical Touch (9/8c) and another fascinating episode of NBC's mystifying Awake (10/9c), I imagine some will maintain that they may be trying a little too hard.

It's probably fair to wonder if Fox is touched in the head for going forward with a show as out-there as Touch. This hasn't been an easy time for truly offbeat shows to gain traction, as risk-takers including Smash, The River and Awake have struggled in the ratings, with critics eager to point out their obvious flaws while often undervaluing the ambition it took to put ...

Tim Kring Answers the Big Question in Touch: Will Kiefer Sutherland Always Save the Day?

David Mazouz and Kiefer Sutherland

Will Kiefer Sutherland always save the day?

Viewers who tuned into the premiere of his newest series Touch watched as his character Martin Bohm pieced together a puzzle indirectly given to him by his autistic son Jake (David Mazouz). By the end of the hour, Martin, like Sutherland's Jack Bauer, connected the dots in the nick of time, saving a young boy from a bomb, reuniting a grieving couple and leading a lottery winner to save a bunch of kids from a burning bus. But will each episode always end with... read more

On the Set: Kiefer Sutherland Returns to TV in Touch

Kiefer Sutherland, Touch

Inside his trailer on the set of his new Fox series Touch, Kiefer Sutherland can't stop thinking about numbers: 12,000,000... 318... 100...

"It boggles the mind," he says. "It's become a huge part of my life."

No, Sutherland hasn't become obsessed with patterns like his son on the show. Touch tells the story of Martin Bohm (Sutherland), a once promising journalist who's now a widower unloading baggage at JFK. His 11-year-old special-needs son, Jake (David Mazouz), scribbles strangely prescient numbers into notebooks but has never uttered a word. In each episode of the drama, Jake connects those numbers to... read more

Wednesday TV in Review: Get Touch-ed, a CSI Farewell, Face Off and More

David Mazouz and Kiefer Sutherland

This mid-season, we're being asked repeatedly to take giant leaps of faith with shows that dare to be different, that refuse to settle for the same old TV formulas, despite all of the risk that entails. Risk is the operating principal behind shows like NBC's Smash (Feb. 6), a dazzling but dauntingly inside (theater) baseball look at the making of a Broadway musical. Ditto ABC's The River (Feb. 7), a terrifying supernatural quest into an exotic heart of darkness in the Amazon jungle that's not for the faint-hearted. Later in the season, not yet scheduled, NBC will offer up Awake, a gripping but grim psychological drama about a grieving man trapped between two possible dream worlds.

The 7 Reasons Kiefer Sutherland Strongly Advises You to Watch Touch

Touch, Kiefer Sutherland

Remember when Jack Bauer was forced into a situation where he needed some friend (not foe) to get out of his way so he could stop some damn terrorists? He'd perform his mighty headlock maneuver and whisper ever so gently, "Don't fight it." That's more or less how Kiefer Sutherland feels about Touch, the new show in which he stars created by Heroes boss Tim Kring. Watching it is what's best for you, he explained read more
