The Fosters' Callie will find a new mentor in Rosie O'Donnell.
In the final moments of the Season 1 finale, Callie (Maia Mitchell) left the Fosters' home in the middle of the night after her little brother saw her kissing foster brother Brandon (David Lambert). When the show returns, Callie will have found herself at Girls United, a transitional home, where O'Donnell plays a social worker named Rita. In our first look photo from the second episode of the season — and the beginning of O'Donnell's arc — Rita is questioning Callie about an incident with one of the other foster kids.

Percentage of LGBT characters on TV has dropped, GLAAD report says
ABC Family's new drama The Fosters will introduce TV viewers to a new kind of modern family.
Executive-produced by Jennifer Lopez, the drama tells the story of Lena (Sherri Saum) and Stef (Teri Polo), a bi-racial lesbian couple that takes in Callie (Maia Mitchell), a troubled teen with an abusive past. The transition for Callie is anything but easy, especially as she tries to fit in with Stef's biological son Brandon (David Lambert) and the couple's adopted twins Mariana (Cierra Ramirez) and Jesus (Jake T. Austin).
Summer TV: Must-watch new shows
ABC Family will introduce its newest drama, The Fosters, on Monday, June 3. But you don't have to wait until summer for your first look at the official Foster family photograph.
Executive producer Jennifer Lopez, her longtime manager Benny Medina and Queer as Folk's Peter Paige helped develop this one-hour drama about a multi-ethnic mix of foster and biological kids being raised by two lesbian moms.
