David Duchovny has checked out of the rehabilitation center where he was being treated for sex addiction.
"David is out of rehab and about to start a new movie," Duchovny's lawyer, Stanton L. Stein, told People. "He successfully completed his treatment." The X-Files and Californication star, 48, voluntarily checked himself in for treatment in August. Stein was not immediately available for further comment.
Duchovny is married to actress Téa Leoni, with whom he has a nine-year-old daughter and six-year-old son.
While the actor's on-screen character, Hank Moody, struggles with constant temptation of the flesh in Showtime's Californication, let's hope that the real-life actor has put his own struggle behind him.
Do you think he can get a fresh start?

David Duchovny has voluntarily entered a treatment facility to deal with sex addiction. The star of Californication (which now, sadly, carries a whole different connotation) told People that he requests "respect and privacy for my wife and children as we deal with this situation."This situation comes on the heels of a less-than-extraordinary performance for Duchovny's summer movie, The X-Files: I Want to Believe. Californication, for which Duchovny won a Golden Globe, is set to premiere its second season on Sept. 28. Ironically, a brand-new promotional campaign hitting (among other places) the New York City subway system proclaims his sexually promiscuous alter ego to be "In Way Too Deep." (See photo here.) A Showtime rep tells TVGuide.com, "We're not altering our second season promo plans and that includes the subway ads."Duchovny is married to actress Tea Leoni, with whom he has two children, 9-year-old West and 6-year-old Kyd.In the following video (at the 0:45 mark), Du...

Oh, I believe in the X-Files. Hundreds of fans filled bleachers and lined Hollywood Blvd. to catch a glimpse of the creators and stars of The X-Files: I Want to Believe at its premiere Wednesday night. Being a huge nerd fan myself, I felt like I had stepped into some alternate dimension X-Files case it was truly surreal. I walked the red carpet and the fans went crazy as we caught b-roll of people wearing Mulder and Scully t-shirts or waving homemade signs and our own TV Guide cover with Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny. My fellow "X-Philes" were thrilled to see a true fan working the carpet, and rewarded me with thunderous applause. I felt like a star myself. After our crews got in place, fans were treated to a special press conference with Gillian, David, Frank Spotnitz, and Chris Carter, moderated by Entertainment Weekly's Whitney Pastorek (lucky girl!). Fans got to ask questions for 15 minutes, and early birds who had been given a black bracelet in the bleachers were p...
