Saxophonist LeRoi Moore, one of the founding members of the widely successful Dave Matthews Band, died at the age of 46 Tuesday afternoon of complications from a June ATV accident. The band played on to a sold-out concert the same evening after hearing the news and paid tribute to their friend during their performance. Check out a video from a past concert featuring Moore's sax solo (at the 4:47 mark) during a live performance of "Number 41."
Hoping to help start the new school year right for the students of Virginia Tech, where a psycho killed 32 people in April, the Dave Matthews Band, John Mayer, Phil Vassar and Nas will perform at the university's Lane Stadium on Sept. 6. Moreover, tix will be free to all coeds, faculty and staff. And if they're lucky, Mayer will leave off his set list that song they played, like, 100 times on So You Think You Can Dance last week.
