Now that the new 90210 has found success (thus, that full-season pickup), will Melrose Place be next?
The good news? Series creator Darren Star says it's a possibility he'd be interested in pursuing, acknowledging that it's been up for discussion on the development side. "Regardless of whether they do it or not, whether I'm part of it or not, I think it would be a fun thing to do," he told TVGuide.com. "I wouldn't be surprised if it happened -- If it can be put together in the right way," he added.
Plus, the new 90210's success — and the requisite fandom surrounding it — is not lost Star. "I love it," he said of the redux. "I mean, it’s incredible to see a show that I was a part of, that many people were a part of for so many years, come back, and that the audience still has an affection for the show."
The bad news? Find out, after the jump!

Question: Even with the summer programming ahead of us, I was looking forward to the new fall season, as I do every year. In fact, the only one I am aware of is a possible lesbian character in Cashmere Mafia, which, of course, could change by airtime, if it gets to air. Although Greg Berlanti (Dirty Sexy Money and Eli Stone), Bryan Fuller (Pushing Daisies), Darren Star (the afore-mentioned Cashmere Mafia) and Alan Poul (Swingtown) are behind the scenes on some of the offerings and will bring their sensibilities to their respective projects, that doesn't necessarily mean lead, supporting or even recurring LGBT characters on their shows. Not that those behind-the-scenes LGBT folk should always include a character in their show, but could they be deliberately shying away from doing so in order to show the broadcast networks that not every project they do ...

The 13-year friendship between TV producer Darren Star and author Candace Bushnell, who previously had partnered on Sex and the City, has hit the skids, now that each party has a similarly themed series being eyed for the fall TV season. While one source tells the Post, "Candace is very hurt and upset by Darren's betrayal," another claims, "There is no truth" to the story.
