After the Tears, Ramiele Malubay Reflects on Idol

Got your own questions for when Ramiele drops by TVGuide.com? Share them in comments!Despite the tears Wednesday night following her elimination, Ramiele Malubay was her typical cheerful self the next day, offering perspective on her performances on Idol and the competition overall, as well as what the future may hold (and yes, Danny Noriega is in it). With solemnity, Malubay acknowledged the hard truth that "there is only one winner [of the show]," but she also sees her weeks on Idol as significant, even if her chances to win are over. "It's actually the first real big thing that's happened in my life," she said. "It's exposure, it's a future, and I'm very grateful to the judges to get me as far as I did to let America judge."And by "judges," Malubay was including Simon, too. He compared her Tuesday performance to that of a singer on a cruise ship, but she still trusts that he has her best interest in mind. "Oh, he likes me, I know he does," Malubay assured reporters. But despite the buzz her blog posting got, there was no official yay or nay from the singer himself... until now.In a March 15 post called "Bon Voyage," Rosie and Danny meet as he departs for an R Family Vacation, and the two enjoy a little lovefest of mutual adoration before he ostensibly sails off (watch the clip here). So what's the future of this relationship? (Danny doing guest blog appearances with Ro? An R Family music label, filled with the young dreamers she admires?) Narrowing It Down to 11

No big surprises tonight in terms of the bottom three Syesha and David H both gave pretty lackluster performances and Kristy was downright awfulAt least the Horton Hears a Who promo to kick off the night was a lot cuter than the Jumper one last month and Jim Carrey was a much better sport about it all including making fun of the blatant cross-promotion than Hayden Christensen The other celebrity in the audience tonight was Sanjaya Malakar who was there with his sister though they never identified him and the camera only lingered on him for a moment Oh and Danny Noriega I suppose returning the favor of Ramieles song dedication to him last night was sitting with her family and wearing a T-shirt with her face on it Its all so teenage-BFFs isnt itThe medley of All My Loving I Feel Fine Cant Buy Me Love and Help had some tough spots Amanda for one continues to stick out like a sore thumb during the group songs Oh and her hair was especially odd t read more

The Top 12 Perform

That was quite a night of ups and downs including some pretty incredible performances and a few disasters not to mention some unintentional comic relief courtesy of the judges The two biggest stories of the night were the seeming self-destruction of hitherto nearly perfect David Archuleta more on that in a bit and the heightened crabbiness of Simon who made disparaging comments not only about the singers but about several of the songs themselves and these were Beatles songs I mean come on Simon had a couple of especially cringe-inducing moments including when he said Whats the Irish girls name and Paula and Randy replied quickly Carly Carly Like a guy in the audience behind Simon I put my head in my hands after that comment Ryan who was unless Im mistaken sporting a faux-hawk talked up the new set which was you know big and impressive but not really all that He also had a couple of choice moments with Simon like when he was whisperi read more

Rosie Makes "Bold, Brave, Beautiful" Danny an Offer

In a video blog segment posted Friday, Rosie O'Donnell invited freshly ousted American Idol contestant Danny Noriega to sing on her cruise. "I don't know if you have to sit around the American Idol studio and, like, look sad for the next few weeks," says the comedienne, "but a week from tomorrow, an R Family Cruise is leaving from San Diego for Cabo San Luco." (A voice behind her then said that it's going to Puerto Vallarta, but whatever.) "So, Danny Noriega," Ro continued, "you've got a free cruise. You and a friend. I want you to sing 'Tainted Love,' and I think you're fantastic. I think you're a bold and brave and beautiful young man. I admire you, Danny Noriega, and you have an amazing voice.... So why don't you come on the cruise?"Cyndi Lauper, among other artists, will apparently also be onboard, and O'Donnell promised a duet op with the returning pop star — and maybe even a trio, with Rosie herself joining in. So, Danny: Are you going to go for it? If you want some compa... read more

Asia'h, Kady, Luke and Danny: Idol Castoffs Sound Off

They came close, but received no cigar. TV Guide caught up the four American Idol hopefuls that didn't make the Top 12. Read on to see who believes she may have won by losing, who plans to make like a male Tyra Banks, and who finds Simon's nastiness rather unnecessary. — Carita RizzoAsia'h Epperson"On Wednesday, when they said, 'You're [singing] first,' I called my mom and said, 'I think this is going to be the last time I'm performing.' Knowing the strategy that goes into it — and it's 100 percent strategy — I figured that it was just too much, too quick. If I'm in the audience, [a performance of Whitney Houston's "I Wanna Dance with Somebody"] is just hitting you over the head. But everything happens for a reason, and clearly God just has a bigger and better plan for me. I believe this was a great stepping stone for me, this is what I needed, and that's it."Kady Malloy"Let me put it this way — it's a TV show.
