Was a singer-songwriter for rock band Oingo Boingo from 1976 to '95.
Provided singing voices for Jack in The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993) and Bonejangles in Corpse Bride (2005). Also performed the vocals for the Oompa-Loompa songs in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005).
Received an honorary doctorate from the North Carolina School of the Arts in 2007.
