E.T.s, go home! Less out-of-this-world than out of its league, ABC's The Neighbors (9:31/8:31c) stands out on the network's celebrated Wednesday comedy lineup like a wart on a hand model. Cheerfully ridiculous and unapologetically moronic, this aliens-among-us sitcom follows a long and mostly proudly silly TV tradition that includes Mork & Mindy, ALF and 3rd Rock From the Sun. Nothing wrong with a goofy guilty pleasure in the right circumstances and if blessed with the genius of a John Lithgow or a Robin Williams — or an ALF.
Paget Brewster knows her guest-starring gig on Law & Order: SVU might be met with a few raised eyebrows from Criminal Minds fans.
She just doesn't care.
"Yeah, people do think it's similar and that's OK. I'm 43 now. I've reached the point where I really can't care what anyone thinks," Brewster tells TVGuide.com. "Of course, I do. I'm an actress. I'm totally insecure, but I'm trying to stick to my guns about what is important to me and it doesn't matter what anyone thinks I should or shouldn't do...

Law & Order: Special Victims Unit kicks off its 14th season by asking what once may have been an unthinkable question: Is Capt. Cragen a murderer?
"He should have not put that dead hooker in his bed," executive producer Warren Leight tells TVGuide.com with a laugh. "Even if we know Capt. Cragen, it's just never good to wake up with a dead hooker in your bed. That means you did something wrong."

But did he? While Cragen (Dann Florek) comes under investigation, Detective Benson (Mariska Hargitay) will work furiously to prove his innocence, even though she has a new temporary captain (guest star Adam Baldwin) breathing down her neck. As Benson gets closer to the truth, she'll learn what Leight says is a theme for the season: Everybody has secrets...

Law & Order: SVU's Bloody Wake-Up Call — What's Next?
SVU has cast Chuck and Firefly alum Adam Baldwin to play Capt. Steven Harris, the squad's new interim captain, TVGuide.com has learned exclusively. He will take over the duties usually handled by Capt. Donald Cragen (Dann Florek), who is suspected of murder after he was last seen waking up next to a dead prostitute in SVU's Season 13 finale...
It seems Paget Brewster can't stay away from a crime scene. The actress, who played Emily Prentiss on Criminal Minds for six seasons before leaving the show earlier this year, will guest-star on the season premiere of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, NBC announced Wednesday.
The actress will appear as the head of the Public Integrity Unit in the District Attorney's office. Her character will be assigned to the case against Dann Florek's Capt. Cragen, who is suspected of murder after last season's shocking finale, in which Cragen woke up with a dead prostitute in his bed.

NATALIE: Can you hear me now? No? That's basically the problem in the season finale. "Dropped calls!" Connor Paolo teases. "The importance of picking up the phone when people call!" Adds Gabriel Mann: "Sometimes it might be real important!" What does it all mean? What's in Nolan's immediate future? "A lot of blood," Mann says. Gulp!

Season 1 star Dean Winters returns on Wednesday's episode as Det. Brian Cassidy, now an undercover cop who is involved in the team's latest case. "It looks like he could be a little shady, and it's up to Cragen to say, 'I know Brian and he's a good cop,'" Dann Florek tells TVGuide.com. Unfortunately, Det. Amaro (Danny Pino) doesn't quite believe him. "It's contentious with Amaro," Pino says. "Dean's character is not as affable as Amaro would like."
Law & Order: SVU
More than 20 years after TV viewers first met Capt. Donald Cragen (Dann Florek) on Law & Order, the actor — not to mention fans — still doesn't quite have his character figured out. And he wouldn't have it any other way.
"I always like when the writers throw a curve ball or when I discover something new because playing a character like this, to me, is like hanging out with a really good friend," Florek tells TVGuide.com. "I would never presume that I know everything about him."
Exclusive sneak peek: SVU's Captain Cragen is ready to go undercover
Florek will learn a lot more about his "friend" on Wednesday's episode of Law & Order: SVU (airing at 10/9c on NBC) when Cragen volunteers to go undercover as a man seeking a mail-order Russian bride. Although ADA Cabot (Stephanie March) is quick to warn the captain not to get emotionally involved with his fake date, that proves much easier said than done. "When you go undercover, one of the key things you have to do is play a character as close to yourself as possible so you don't get caught up in...
