A magical wizard fell short to three superheroes at the box office, as Chronicle edged out The Woman in Black for the top spot, Box Office Mojo reports.

Chronicle, about three teenage friends who gain superpowers, grossed an estimated $22 million in its opening weekend. The Woman in Black, starring Harry Potter's Daniel Radcliffe, drew $21 million to take second place.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 won big at the Spike TV Scream Awards, taking home six trophies including The Ultimate Scream.

Daniel Radcliffe appeared on a pre-recorded tribute to the film's final installment telling the audience: "I've had the most incredible 10 years of my life on Harry Potter ...
