Broadway staff members are outraged after nude photos of Daniel Radcliffe performing in Equus have surfaced on the Internet.The all-grown-up Harry Potter star strips down in the play, which centers on a disturbed psychiatric patient who blinds horses, which held previews last week. A Broadway staging of Equus, the West End revival that last year made headlines due to Daniel Radcliffe's many minutes of onstage nudity, has been scheduled to start previews Sept. 5 at the Broadhurst Theatre. Opening night is set for Sept. 25. In Equus, the erstwhile Harry Potter plays a disturbed stable hand. Daniel Radcliffe says he "had an inkling" that one of cinema's biggest franchises would cleave its finale into two films, but still cheers the official decision to turn Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows into a two-part series-ender. "It's a really positive thing," the actor told TV Guide during a call to promote Masterpiece Classic: My Boy Jack (airing April 20 on PBS). "And I think the fans will appreciate that more than had we tried to make it into one film. We'd have to cram so much in there and actually have to skip over some things. Harry Potter fans at the edge of their seats in anticipation of the final film installment are getting two movies instead of one. Warner Brothers said Wednesday that the series' final book, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, is so long — tallying 784 pages — that the filmmakers decided to split it into two pieces. According to the Reporter, instead of compromising the storyline with excisions or making an exceptionally long movie, the flick, to become parts one and two, will be shot back-to-back for releases in November 2010 and May 2011, respectively. J.K. Rowling's Hallows sold more than 11 million copies in its first 24 hours on bookshelves last fall, so the film version x 2 seems to = excellent profits for Warners, plus extra thrills for filmgoers (especially since teen superstar Daniel Radcliffe's signed on).
