JJ’s wracked with guilt about sleeping with Eve and appears on the verge of confessing to Jennifer. However, Paige interrupts and reiterates how much she loves him. Once she goes, JJ instead honestly talks to his mom about his unresolved feelings about his father. Jennifer reminds him that Jack made amends, and everyone was able to move on. JJ later calls Paige and says when he sees her next, he has something important to tell her. Maggie’s overjoyed when she’s reunited with Melanie. Melanie announces she’s moving back to Salem – for good. Once alone, Melanie’s upbeat attitude fades a bit as she checks her purse, which contains stacks of cash. She goes to reconnect with her father but instead finds Nicole at his apartment, fresh from the shower. Melanie wonders just what the hell she is doing there. Earlier, Daniel and Nicole have an unexpected moment in the park, fraught with an attraction they both feel and strongly resist. They go back to his place and agree they should remain friends. Nicole spills a drink all over herself, and Daniel offers his shower while he goes out. Later, Daniel tells Eric he has something to tell him about Nicole. Sonny’s furious to learn Chad’s taken the Co-CEO position at DiMera Enterprises without notifying him. He wonders if Chad’s secrecy has anything to do with Sonny being a Kiriakis. Chad denies it and assures he’s got Sonny’s back with the club expansion. Meanwhile, Kate confides in Clyde about Chad’s appointment. Clyde later runs into Chad and offers congratulations. Chad, knowing how Jordan feels about Clyde, isn’t interested in being friendly. At the same time, Kate warns Sonny about being partners with a DiMera. Eric gets a surprise visit from Caroline, Roman and Marlena at his new apartment.
Melanie makes a surprise return to Salem!
Eve covers with Jennifer by telling a half-truth – that Paige learned about Jack’s rape of Kayla all those years ago, and it’s caused problems for her and JJ. Eve goes, and Jennifer comforts her son, who is clearly shaken by what’s happened. Meanwhile, Paige insists to Daphne that Eve is a good mother. When Paige gets home, she stubbornly tells Eve she’s not giving up on JJ. Eric tells Marlena he’s moving to a new apartment. She wonders if he’s truly over Nicole, and he says he may never be truly over her, but the relationship is done. Later, Nicole runs into Eric and learns he’s moving, but he doesn’t tell her where. After Daniel speaks with Maggie about Jennifer, he meets Nicole at the park. While playing ball, it gets fun and physical… and they end up in a compromising position. Meanwhile, Maggie gets a pleasant surprise when Melanie unexpectedly returns to Salem! Chad tells Jordan he is the new Co-CEO of DiMera Enterprises. She wonders how he will deal with working with Kate, and he assures he can handle her. Later, Marlena overhears Jordan leaving a congratulatory message for Chad, and they talk about the DiMera family. Meanwhile, Victor expresses concern to Sonny about Sonny and Will being apart for so long. He also warns Sonny about his partner, Chad, who is a DiMera, after all. Later, Sonny learns Chad is the new Co-CEO at DiMera Enterprises and is not pleased.
Stefano learns of Chad's betrayal.
Hope is upset when she believes Aiden did an Internet search on her private fortune. After a brief interruption by Caroline (who reiterates her approval of Aiden), Hope confronts him. Aiden realizes what happened – he and Chase somehow switched tablets. He apologizes on behalf of his son, and Hope apologizes for thinking the worst of him. Aiden insists Hope’s money means nothing to him, and they part on happy terms. Later, Aiden sternly warns Chase not to tell anyone that his mom was rich… Theresa lashes out at Brady for blabbing to Victor about her pregnancy scare and for showing up at her place of work after insisting they go their separate ways. She then informs him she’s moving on with someone new. She goes back to Paul’s room and flirts some more – but can’t keep Brady far from her thoughts. JJ confides in Abigail that he wants to take a break from Paige, but doesn’t get into the real reason why. Meanwhile, Paige gets upset when Eve encourages her to accept JJ’s request to break things off. Paige refuses and later confides in Daphne about her mom. At the same time, Eve hammers home with JJ that he needs to convince Paige to break up. As they argue, Jennifer returns home from her trip and wonders what they are talking about. T overhears that Chad is going to be Co-CEO of DiMera Enterprises, and Chad warns he needs to keep that quiet. Later, Stefano calls and reveals he knows what Chad did. Chad defends himself, only to learn that Stefano isn’t angry – he’s proud of him. Meanwhile, Abigail admits to Maggie that Chad has a dark side.
