Dan Marino Fast Facts:

First wore his famous No. 13 in American Legion baseball, when Nos. 14 and 15 (the only other uniforms large enough) were already taken.
Drafted by Major League Baseball's Kansas City Royals in 1979 after batting .513 and posting a 22-0 record as a pitcher in high school.
Teamed with PGA Tour pro Dan Pohl to win the Pro-Am portion of the 1988 Pebble Beach National Pro-Am.
Champions fund-raising efforts for research for autism, which his son Michael was diagnosed with in 1991.
Played himself in the Miami-based movie Ace Ventura: Pet Detective.
Enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame in August 2005.
Through his Dan Marino Foundation, helped organize the first annual WalkAbout Autism in Miami in 2011.
