Star Jones made her final appearance as the face of E!'s red-carpet coverage at this month's Emmys, reports the New York Post. While the Viewer claims that the decision is hers and that she wanted time off to promote her new book, E! insiders tell the paper, "[Star] just didn't do well," and "this has been in the works for a while." A rep for the cabler tells the Post, "Star was not fired and no decisions have been made [on] the next red-carpet team." Do not tell me Kathy Griffin still paying for that Dakota Fanning crack.

Question: I recently caught a Christmas episode of Spin City that featured Charlie Sheen. Some of the staff appeared to be in an orphanage distributing gifts. Is it me or was that little blonde girl (I think her name was Cindy) the same girl who was in Taken?
Answer: Good eye, Kayla. Taken's small wonder, Dakota Fanning, did indeed play wee Cindy in the "Toy Story" episode, which originally aired on Dec. 20, 2000. At that young age her other TV appearances already included ER, Ally McBeal, The Practice, CSI and Malcolm in the Middle.

Question: Got any spoilers for the second season of House?
Answer: Yeah, I just got off the phone with exec producer David Shore and he told me that LL Cool J will guest-star in the Sept. 13 season premiere as a death row inmate who is felled by — yep, you guessed it — a mysterious ailment. The second episode, meanwhile, almost featured Dakota Fanning as a 9-year-old patient, but the scheduling couldn't be worked out and they ended up going with a newcomer. And Shore assured me that a House/Cameron romance is not out of the question, despite the crabby doc's continued flirtation with recurring guest-star Sela Ward. Their romance has merely been postponed.
