Michael Shannon
If HBO's period gangster epic Boardwalk Empire has a single truism to impart to working stiffs, it might be: It's good to be the king... well, mostly. Sure, Steve Buscemi's Nucky Thompson — Atlantic City treasurer, power broker and bootlegger supreme — is awash in money, power and glamour, but his day-to-day existence is a never-ending game of whack-a-mole, with egos to stroke, law enforcement threats to evade and scores to settle.

Boardwalk Empire
At the end of last season's Boardwalk Empire, forces were aligning against Atlantic City kingpin Nucky (Steve Buscemi), just as Margaret (Kelly Macdonald) had decided to return to him and his life of seeming ease. With the Commodore (Dabney Coleman) hellbent on turning those closest to Nucky against him, things are about to get infinitely more dangerous for the newly reunited couple. "Things get pretty bad for him, and they got a lot worse for Margaret," Macdonald says. "She really struggles this season with her choices."

TVGuide.com invited Williams to preview what’s ahead for his new surgeon, as well as reflect on Everwood’s unfortunate fate.
TVGuide.com: First off, let’s talk to the Everwood fans out there. What will they find familiar about your new doc, and what will they find different?Treat Williams: Hmm, that’s a good question. Not too much familiar, a lot different. This is the guy that Andy Brown probably was in New York, five years before he came to Everwood — very caught up in a very high-stress environmen

Jenna Elfman still believes in Dharma.
Hi-larious. That's the word coming out of Jenna Elfman's mouth, midconversation, as she picks up the phone for this TVGuide.com Q&A. What is the gifted comedienne in the midst of describing? That was the first topic at hand as we used the occasion of the DVD release of Dharma & Greg: Season One to chat up Elfman — fresh from Courting Alex's abbreviated run — about her sitcom hits, misses and lessons learned, the Dharma-

Josh Randall, Courting Alex
It was a tall order — literally — finding the right man to play opposite statuesque Jenna Elfman on CBS' Courting Alex, which makes its Wednesday-time-slot debut tonight at 8:30 pm/ET.
