Courtney B. Vance has been admitted to the ER.The actor has signed on to do a multi-episode guest arc on the long-running medical drama, NBC announced. Vance, 48, will play the husband of Angela Bassett's character fitting since the duo are married in real life."We are excited to see the on-screen chemistry and emotion this incredibly talented husband and wife team will bring to our show," David Zabel, the show's executive producer, said. The joint appearances will mark the first time the couple has acted on-screen together. Bassett, 50, will be a regular on ER next season the drama's 15th and last playing the new ER chief, Dr. Catherine Bancroft.Vance is best known for his five-year run as ADA Ron Carver on Law & Order: Criminal Intent. Great episode. I missed this one the first time around because, as I confessed a couple weeks ago, I was a lapsed Criminal Intent viewer last season...just like Goren is a lapsed Catholic altar boy. Who knew? Well, I guess everybody that caught this one last year...But really, this one did have it all from a nun buying prostitutes out of a seedy van (decidedly not of the mini variety), to the bloody murder of another nun inside a church. And that was all within the first five minutes. Okay, Bad Lieutenant it wasnt, but youve gotta admit, Goren was pretty rough on that one pimp. I said, hands behind your HEAD!
